How many times have you been divorced?

I noticed that a fair amount of my friends are no more then once. This has to be a huge change in the last 40 years. Multiple divorces were only for the rich in the past.

CaptainHowdy 02-10-2015 06:36 AM

I'm on the proactive side, I'll just never marry.

candyflip 02-10-2015 06:40 AM

Where's the 0?

10 years. 3 kids. No messy divorce because we didn't bother to get married.

MakeMeGrrrrowl 02-10-2015 06:40 AM

I think multiple divorces are a thing of the past because less people get married early in life?

I however did get married at 19. That ended fairly quick.

I am on my second marriage.

Yeah but if I remember right there's law enforcement involved :1orglaugh

In the UK, use a cockney rhyming expression "the ball and chain"
Another one I like, "the trouble and strife"

Once... I don't recommend it. Divorce that is.

The new one is the cop. Maybe that's why I don't get any hassles. :winkwink:

Twice. Once for real, and the next time was just a technicality...

Tam 02-10-2015 10:03 AM

0 divorces for me - been married to the same guy for 31 years and have 4 kids by him - no need to redo what's perfect the first time around. :thumbsup

I get that but my issue is the idea of fucking this same person for the rest of my life. The concept doesn't work for me. I am not willing to cheat so I have to move on. Sort of sad but it is what it is.

slapass 02-11-2015 06:17 AM

Why have a zero? Did anyone notice all the twice? I am a bit lonely in the three spot but...

Rochard 02-11-2015 03:11 PM

I don't believe I've ever been divorced but I've had two wives.

My first marriage was more of a combination of "two kids in love" and a convenience marriage. I was in the military, and having base privileges is a huge deal - just getting on and off base, shopping at the PX, plus medical and dental, housing allowances. Oh, we were in love and banging each other the entire time, but when it was time for me to leave the military she was more interested in banging other chicks and she decided not to come with me. We got an annulment. (After a few years she moved to San Francisco and we tried to rekindle it again but it just wasn't going to happen.)

So technically I believe I've never been divorced.

Donna and I have been together twenty-one years, married for sixteen, have a fourteen year old kid. No regrets at all.

That is my first marriage identically. Terrible decision but I did get some good life experiences out of being a military wife.

Think that's harder to do today then years ago. Social media to blame, too easy to find skank city, get caught, lose half. :2 cents:

I'm at zero cause scared as hell. :1orglaugh

TTI-Rich 02-11-2015 09:23 PM

Divorced once. Hated to go through with it, still regret it.

Spunky 02-11-2015 09:27 PM

I've seen many friends go through hell because of it,and it scares me

PornDiscounts-V 03-11-2015 08:24 AM

Took me once to realize marriage was a farce. Happily unmarried now to someone else going on 20 years.

not divorced yet, but been split for 4 years. lost literally everything during the process (chuck in a few other huge upheavels too), and have never recovered. I'd never shack up with a woman again, let alone get married again. To be brutally honest, it fucked with my head in more ways than I could ever imagine, and I'm not the same person - a LOT of mental/emotional scars. Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

CourtneyR 03-11-2015 08:58 AM

Never been married.

You must do a contract and then no worries about losing half. As simple as that. I am not married, but when I do, I definitely have a contract :2 cents:

After 12 years years of marriage, we were best friends. At a winery murder mystery dinner, they always announced birthdays, wedding anniversarys. Once they announced "and we have G & K celebrating 17 years of happy divorce." We even lived back to back

Married once...never divorced.

Been together 20 years...married for 17.

We're among the world's earliest cyber couples - we met over BBSes before the web existed.

Bullshit ... it makes no sense to comment it

To marry a person is to play on lottery. You never know what you gonna get at the end.
My wife's sister got divorced recently, / her husband was deployed for more than 6 months away / and she did what she did. It was real disaster at the end - she was caught / what a surprise/ - the guy decided to save their marriage, but the trust was already lost, and she started to meet other guys probably of anger or just to prove him something. Now she is regretting - but the dude found another woman and now he's with her.

A very confusing and devastating situation to all of us, because we all love them both.
Who would knew. On my side - I was like a kid who was told that "Santa is not real", no such thing like "Pure and real love existing", " People are cheating" and shit like that.
I'm married, but what me and wifey went through together is something I would not wish to no one. There are more scariest things than "cheating" in life.
