Anyone here increased your upload speed? How much do you pay for it?

I have Time Warner and no matter what package you choose, the upload speed is 5Mbps. When I upload videos its awful.
Im thinking of either switching to AT&T or calling Time Warner and asking for a business package.
I was wondering what y'all pay for faster uploads, and did you notice a difference in your speeds? Was it worth the upgrade?

altmman 02-14-2015 11:56 AM

Does everyone here get 5Mbps upload speed?

#1) Switching to AT&T will be the biggest mistake you have ever made. I tried it, it was bad. It was also a bear trying to get out of it. If you never listen to anything on this board, listen to this. DON'T. You will regret it.

#2) Call Time Warner and bitch. Blame it on them. Not for one second let them talk around you. ALWAYS put the blame on them. It's their service, it's their equipment. Express your displeasure. Get a "supervisor" on the phone if you feel the rep is trying to railroad you.

Fuck them. Always turn the blame onto them no matter what the issue. I don't care if yo hide your router in a lead box 15,000 miles from your PC. The do it, they installed it. It was supposedly working when they left.

Call, bitch... if that rep doesn't want to hear it? Escalate it. Make it known that you want names and extension numbers. Record it if you feel the need (see applicable laws in your state).

We all pay too much for cable, never mind internet. On top of that? I dabbled with the thought of "cutting the cable" and going straight Netflix/Hulu etc. They have the market cornered (where I live) on pretty much all reliable internet service and it comes out to be about $20 less to bot have channels.

Fuck you Time Warner.

Get yourself a biz package from Time Warner, like I have. I am in NYC tho. My upload speed is 50 and it's going to 100 next week when they send out the new modems.

Does it make a difference? Man I fired 2 employees, saving me $250 a week, cause I can do ALL their work, both of them, in 3 hours (as opposed to 80 hours between them both).

So worth it? Fuck yeah! I pay around $220 a month for this service.

OMFG, that's some awesome speed! That would be so perfect. But instead, now we're in Spain, about 1mb upload 10 down :2 cents:

I know Time Warner's customer service is horrible but once you get to tech support, they will stick with you to resolve the problem. I believe I pay $79/month for 20 up and 300 down:

I did, works out to be the same price as fedex... I live in a somewhat remote area, even though close to town no isp will invest in the area due to low population... so I have a radio dish in the backyard doing LOS to a transmitter on the mountain... $400 per month and have a $39 cable line for back up email and stuff....

I can upload 20 GIG in 30 min I think

tucata 02-15-2015 08:52 AM
