have a good valentines day?

Made breakfast for my girl, rode the Harley thru Mulholland drive to the rock store to Neptunes net. Then returned. Then took her to a french restaurant called Riv Gauche and I had some Salmon, was a very good dinner.

L-Pink 02-14-2015 11:15 PM

Stayed in, had a nice romantic evening at home ...

I don't know, Vendz, because I live with my lovely wife (we're married for 21 years now). So you tell me :winkwink:

pornmasta 02-15-2015 11:20 AM

a commercial celebration every 2 months.

Next to come:
easter
father's day/mother's day
summer vacations
children return at school
halloween
christmas...

remember, spend your money wisely: the society is watching you....

Romance have nothing to do with some commercial events like valentines day. Are you being romantic with your woman only 1 day a year? Or may be you love here more on February 14th? Why can't you do it every single day? Our life is short and I don't have to wait till the next valentines day to tell my wife how much I love her...

Perhaps they simply don't need an "excuse" to show love.

As far as they don't need an excuse, then fine, stay out of this thread, I wanted to know what you did, I didn't ask what you didn't do, I have no interest in people that do nothing.

i have fun with my woman every weekend, staying home doing nothing is an excuse

I don't believe a word of any of this bullshit.
No one on GFY has a girlfriend, wife, lover or partner.

Come on now people please. LOL

Summer vacation is not celebration, and neither is returning to school.

Although around here we have purely pagan midsummer celebration. Witches beware! :)
Well.. just kidding; witches are burned separately.

oh yes, we have this too "feux de la saint jean" (litteraly saint john's fires)

St John's Eve - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

but it's not very popular

Some of you are bullshitting or clueless. There isn't a woman alive that deep down doesn't want to be recognized, made to feel a little special on Valentines Day.

There seems to be two Wikipedia pages about the same subject. Although latter is more pagan.

Around here midsummer celebration is probably most celebrated event after christmas. "Nightless night", bonfires, heavy drinking and if you are lucky; some fucking. "In folk magic, midsummer was a very potent night and the time for many small rituals, mostly for young maidens seeking suitors and fertility."

Oh yeah. :)

Jesus Christ you're a fucking wet blanket. Do you give her presents on her birthday / Christmas or are they too commercial for you?

Did not celebrate.

SilentKnight 02-15-2015 01:56 PM

Bought her a dozen red long-stem roses.

And cleaned the snow off her car.

After 20 years together our Vday gifts tend to get practical (well, except for the roses).

I think every nation has something like that. E.g. Иван Купала day:

We have 8th March for that. In fact, most of Russian women just hate this day.

Listen to me, clown. We don't celebrate Christmas because we are atheists. We do celebrate New Year instead. Course we give presents each to other on birthdays, but we do the same just w/o a reason too. So I don't need to wait for some "special day" to give my wife a bouquet of flowers.

If they are located far enough to north, or on the southern hemisphere far enough to south. As in those locations seasons are very notable, and midsummer clearly is the highpoint of summer.

They don't celebrate midsummers in Central Africa, or at least for the same reasons (much light, nightless nights, etc.). As they for example ain't have nightless nights around there.

I would like to agree with you but I tend to use it to remind myself. I get busy or lazy etc and sometimes the idea is lost in the day to day. So yeah I tend to play it up.

It's amazing your attitude for anything I post, yet you always post your disdain for anything I post, I know you are unhappy because you were alone for the day and miss your pet ewe, but the negativity of every single post you put in my threads I believe reveals a deeper darker hate for anything joyful. Spend that 20 dollars and get yourself a new ewe and live it up. I'll stick with women!

After 20 years, making her happy is practical! Just Saying

Had some friends over but thats it really.

Saving for an upcoming thing we have planned and would rather put it all to that then waste on candy and flowers.

Yeah, just spent a few bucks on the Laughlin River run in April, going to see ZZTop, got floor seats. Hoping for a good time, riding my Harley there

Ive been to Rive Gauche Vendzilla - great spot!

This year I was surprised by a helicopter tour of Los Angeles, a few deliveries of flowers, a beautiful card (the words inside were very special) and dinner at Il Cielo in Beverly Hills.
Was a great day :)

I was very happy with the place, The Salmon was perfect and the restaurant is a nice place. I don't like going to Beverly Hills if I can help it. Hate the parking. Everything I drive, valet parking has a problem with.
Glad you enjoyed yourself, you deserve it I'm sure!

I cooked breakfast in the morning, took care of whatever needed to be done around the house during the day, and went out to a very nice dinner where we had our first date. So much negativity that surrounds Vtines day as it being a made up holiday. Yea it might be made up but we both still have fun "celebrating" and thats all that matters. TBH we avoid "card giving" at all holidays thats the real waste of $$

People that say it's made up are wrong, because it was not just made up

Saint Valentine's Day is an official feast day in the Anglican Communion, as well as in the Lutheran Church. The Eastern Orthodox Church also celebrates Saint Valentine's Day, albeit on July 6 and July 30, the former date in honor of the Roman presbyter Saint Valentine, and the latter date in honor of Hieromartyr Valentine, the Bishop of Interamna (modern Terni). In Brazil, the Dia de São Valentim is recognized on June 12.

I was taught and passed this on to my daughter that holidays( Time Off ) allow family and friends to get together and have fun. It's the world of commerce that distorts them. While there is a lot of hype for Valentines day, it does allow for specials at nice restaurants, Christmas, even though it's the major shopping season of the year, it also allows for some good deals. If you only look at the negative in something, then that's all you will see. I even think of the positive of Obama, in less than 2 years, he will be gone!
