FAA considering reasonable rules for commercial drone use
 

Press Release – DOT and FAA Propose New Rules for Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems

I always thought it was a bit nuts that something like four companies were licensed and certified to do everything from drone shoots for Hollywood features to surveying land.

The FAA is taking action and considering reasonable rules for commercial drone use that will open up usage to a lot more users.

That should make for some hectic skies.

They were supposed to have this done a long time ago. Now if they would stop dragging their ass and get the 3rd class medical certification requirement for private pilots removed, like they were also supposed to have done by now, that would just be great.
