Quick seo question
I have a website UniqueWebsiteName.com (example), and when I enter "unique website name" in Google.com it does not rank on the very first place (I know that it should, my other websites like that do). This ranks on the 22nd position, and it does not even show the main page, but something like UniqueWebsiteName.com/help.
When I enter "uniquewebsitename" in Google.com it ranks on the 5th place after three results from Facebook, and one result from Twitter (correct social media pages for this domain). The fifth rank is for the main .com page. Whats going on? How to test it? How to fix it? Thanks! |

Have you done anything to give it a bad name? Duplicate content? Is it brand new?
|
Do you have any backlinks form niche-related sites with decent PR?
|
Yes, it is fairly new, and not too many backlinks. Nothing bad about the site. All good and unique (actually there can be some duplicate content within the script - I've notice that help page ranks, and it is full of already written text, which is probably in millions of places on the Net, I was planning to block it with robots.txt).

We can help but you need to stop fucking around and post the domain... "yourdomain dot com" will do.
|
I have the same damn issue with one of my sites. Hopefully I can learn something here.
|
Crawling errors perhaps? There is a "Fetch as Google" function in the Google Webmaster Tools, this sometimes helps guessing what went wrong. The Bing webmaster tools have something similar (Fetch as bingbot), more interesting is the SEO analyzer which gives you hints when there's something not okay.
(But if your site is online for only a couple days, I would just wait some more days.) |
Enter "UniqueWebsiteName.com" without quotes. If you are not number one then you have a penalty of some kind.

Put your domain in this online SEO tool, it should tell you something SEO Analyzer - Online SEO Checker Analysis report

Sounds like a dup content penalty. Run it through copyscape.
|
Check your keywords. Be sure there is not overspam of keywords. It could be a reason too. And as guys already said, it can be connected with your content. Check is there duplicated content or not. If yes, just change for unique content or use nofollow/noindex in order to not allow to index it by SE.
|
It appears the competition for your search term is high or your page isn't fully crawled yet.

it is difficult to tell without looking the site, pm me, I might be able to tell you the real reason
|
Social media matters a lot to Google these days, so when you bother to register GreatWebSiteName.com you need to snatch up GreatWebSiteName user accounts on the obvious social media channels twitter, instagram, pinterest, and post links in those profiles and content back to GreatWebsiteName.com
Social traffic is going to be greater than search, anyway, for most new sites. |
be careful! google gonna index this!
