I always heard that european countries were ahead of the US on internet speeds. Seems that internet technology is jumping up leaps and bounds. I hear that speeds are moving up even faster than what I have. Seems that the future will have all of the the broadcast TV channels online versus broadcasted over the airwaves. Imaging that. I see why the government really wants to start regulating the internet. You already have internet radio stations, you have you tube stations, etc. With the internet speeds and content availability as it is today and as it has been growing, I see broadcast station as they are today being obsolete. Or at the very least, making their current delivery system obsolete. Opinions??? please chime in. Just Dave |
14.24 Mbps Download Speed, 1.00 Upload Speed. Lowest level plan. Works good for me.

The internet is still a comparatively new medium among the older generation and requires a bit of interaction - as opposed to merely plopping down in an easy chair and turning on the boobtube box. My wife and I are polar opposites that way. She'll sit and watch TV all day and night - she DVR's her favorite shows. Me...I seldom watch TV anymore at all. I'm online the vast majority of my waking hours. |
220Mbit down, 20Mbit up. Standard account that comes with cable TV... super fast.. love it!

I also notice that all of the cable channels and broadcast channels offer you the option to download your missed show onto your laptop, iPad, phone or download the content into your DVR system for viewing at your leisure. Im not a huge TV guy either, but I do follow technology and I am seeing a definite shift shift on the way content gets delivered. The development of H.265(Not H.264) compression algorithm, will make it where you can actually stream 4K content. And to add the new internet download speeds that are available? Keep in mind broadcast TV only sends 720p HD where download streaming pay per view services are at 1080p HD. So do you see broadcast TV sending 4K files for viewing before internet Tv content sources? Just Dave |
It differs greatly not just by country, but even by neighbourhood. Right now I am at about 75Mb/s down and 60 mb/s up, but after we move next month I am expecting 150mb/s down and 150mb/s up. Sick speed, especially for a home connection.
|
We get screwed in Australia. Most home connections aren't capable of more than 2 Mb/s upload. Even fast home cable broadband might be 100MB/s down and 2MB/s up.
Business broadband is better, where at our office we have 500MB/s both up and down. |
100/100 fiber
|
22 down ....2 up! Fuck I pay to much for this ..$60.00...West Atl ...States
Fastest I can get in the sticks, wouldn't trade the privacy for a faster connection ....Ever! |

My speed at the office in Tampa, FL. That's on Verizon Fios. I can't get Fios at my house, so I have Brighthouse, and it's supposed to be 150 down, 20 up (I believe). |

(Have you seen Verizon's "half fast" commercials? Pretty funny.) |

officially 100/20 by cable, unofficially on a good day 130/25.
Later this year a downstream of 300 will be possible, upstream unknown. price 399dkk ~61usd/month. Copenhagen, Denmark. |
I have about 10-15 mb of upload and 55-67 mob of download speed.
Not too fast, but gets the job done. |
|
90 mbps down, 12 mbps up.

AT&T Brings 1Gbps Internet To Kansas City, Charges $29 Extra If You Don't Want To Be Tracked So, will people sell their privacy for $30 a month? What is AT&T's real end game strategy in this? |
Anyone here is from Germany?
The upload speed really sucks... |
Very bad today...better not to post

http://www.speedtest.net/result/4149943638.png To be fair I live on a gravel road in the middle of nowhere so I am actually lucky to even get DSL and I am doing better than most of my neighbours who are stuck using a Rogers rocket hub, which is even more awful than Bell DSL. |

Paying about $150 for Fios in OC. They offer 500/500 for about $100, but it's just overkill IMO. |
100 down 10 up

I don't feel like posting my results.
Fuck you Sky and your shitty service... :disgust |

60/6 via comcast
|
I have the lowest tier plan for "fibre" and having an unlimited pipe at home... it's 30 down / 20 up for about $30/mo - I can get triple that for about $15 more but don't really need it since I don't work from home anymore.
only really watch Netflix / game on it, FTP some php files sometimes. |
Do you guys with comcast have to deal with a monthly limit?
|
40.35 - 3.14
Unless you work for NASA you don't need any more than that. |
75/75 Mbps here on Fios. I average about 10 MB/s transfer speeds.
|
Fiberlink 1000mbps
Price : Around $ 16.00 / mo Romania |
Since moving to Spain, we miss virgin cable :(
http://www.speedtest.net/result/4153871605.png In the UK, we had several lines to our home & studio, some 20 down & up, our home had 60 down & at least 10 up, you can tell the difference :2 cents: |
