Uptick in Spam
 

Anyone else experiencing an increase in poorly contrived spam?

Just got a phishing one about car payments, but down at the bottom is a copy paste bit of text about Carnegie Mellon. Looks legit. :1orglaugh

However, it seems awfully suspect to me that someone here left a message for me about how to contact me. I gave them my email but never heard from them again, but the spam started soon after.

Yes... lots of phishing emails recently about suppressed Fox TV videos, my Walmart gift cards, ADT security, etc. It started 2-3 months ago.

Is it just me, or does spam seem old-fashioned and lame nowadays? With contextual ads on websites that know where I live, my demographic, etc., random emails about herbal supplements or whatever seem pathetic.

In the pic above, he looks a lot like my girl. She has always been very intelligent - she has me well trained - and social. She was a stray that was found as a kitten, so I don't know anything about her heritage, but judging by her appearance and behavior I think she might be Korat.

350-400 a day is now normal.

Major main in the ass although about half go to accounts that are for single tasks only so the spam sits out like a sore thumb.

A few of my clients are getting BLASTED with confirm your payment download this zip type spam. Parking tickets, fines, etc all with .zip files attached.

He was little when I found him (at six weeks old) and when I started the website, but he blimped--he weighed 18.5 lbs a year ago, and the vet put him on a diet as he's pre-diabetic. I've been told GrayGuy might be a Korat, but I looked the breed up and I have my doubts. If you have a Korat that's awesome as they were originally only given as gifts, and so aren't that common.

More SPAM and more new bots signing up every minute. :mad::mad:
