1 Year with Verotel

this thread is not meant to be as "advertising" for Verotel. It's just my honest review.

So, i just realized today while browsing through old email messages that
it's been 1 year since i started the partnership with Verotel.

As many of the webmasters in here , i had some bad experiences with other merchants ( zombaio) and i was looking for a better alternative. I found out JasonCollins thread
for "NEW webmasters who switch to Verotel" very interesting.

The Team:
I got in contact with Jason, he explained to me everything i needed to know and couple of days later i was officially a Verotel merchant.

Needless to say that i appreciate Jason's help through all the signup proccess, website approval and everything that was required so that my business can be approved and run the Verotel payment processing forms.

Other than Jason's help, the entire Verotel merchant support team was/still is very helpful and always willing to offer the best solution to any related problem i had.

The Fees:
- Verotel is not a "cheap" merchant as it concerns transactions fees ( like zombaio ) but they have multiple options that can be applied to any volume of transactions. From standard accounts to premium ones. And if you can't find something that suits your needs, they can work around something to make it acceptable ( especially for a newcommer)

I also appreciated the fact that they offered me a flexible solution for me to pay the Visa/MC anual fee ( and that was great, considering the fact that i was on a low budget)

The Payouts:
- Always on time, Every week, clockwork . Never missed one payment in one year!
The conversion rates are good, and the transfer fees are minimum, so... hat off so far.

Thanks Jason, and Verotel.

Verotel and their team are nothing short of GREAT!

I have used them for my various sites over the period of 15 years (with one site the entire time) and no, they never missed a week!

Not only that but they offer direct deposit ACH into my bank and get this...the fee is FREE. CCBill do that - Nope!

Love Verotel

Your mileage may vary, but, in my experience Verotel do not pay.

Why didn't they pay you?

rowan 05-15-2015 05:20 PM

This thread reminded me to chase up the small balance that has been sitting in my Verotel account since 2013. If you left them due to their new fees at that time - wasn't worth it for me - it may be worth checking that you've been fully paid out. I was supposed to be paid mid 2014, after the 6 month holdback period expired, but nothing has happened.

Maxxx9000 05-16-2015 10:13 AM

Have been using Verotel for 8 years now. Never had a complaint.

No idea. I did ask. Wasn't enough for me to pursue when one of their people got all crazy town at me.

You'll note, with all the times I have mentioned this, Verotel has never suggested there was any good reason and has never denied their failure to pay.

Just bothers me seeing Verotel trying to profit from Zombaio's problems, when I've found Zombaio much much better payers with much much better and much more professional support. Your mileage may vary, but that has been my experience.

Stealing people's money isn't a problem, it's an occupation for Zombaio and it called thievery.

While your experience with Zombaio may have been ok, there seems to be countless others that are owed thousands.

Barefootsies 05-17-2015 07:54 PM

I have been with Verotel for the better part of a decade now, and I have no complaints.

Jason and his crew have been very helpful when I needed it. Their prices and such are fair, and inline with most of the other 3rd party processors. My payments come like clockwork, and often times early, historically from them via ACH.

Has there been a hiccup here and there over time? Sure. But it was always resolved in a timely fashion. Their support is a bit slower than say a CCBill, but I can tell you from year's of experience in this industry each processor has trade offs.

That being said, I have referred plenty of new fetish merchants to Verotel and they all have been well taken care of by the crew. I understand some prefer a CCBill over others, and that's fine. I have also had CCBill, among others, and out of those I have done the longest business with Verotel has been top notch for me thus far.

:thumbsup

I hear ya :thumbsup

Does seeing this bother you?

I'm confused by it. CCbill is in the domain name, the ad says "switch to cardbilling", also says "powered by Verotel". To top it off, domain is registered private in Netherlands :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

rowan 05-18-2015 02:39 AM

Wait, wut? Verotel is domain squatting on the www.ccbill.cm typo?

BTW: I have received a response from Verotel regarding my stalled payment.

I don't know about squatting , but I do know that when I Google certain terms, that link I provided was from an adwords that popped up.

Verotel was so good to me back when I was an American living in Australia for 5 years. Then they one day they switched on me, with no recourse. They were very harsh, after years of me giving them my exclusive business, back when times were really, really good.

There was a guy that used to work there, he really was the grease that worked the machine. He was a Gay guy, I can't remember his name and my emails don't go back that far. Verotel laid him, and others, off ( which is a very difficult, expensive task in the Netherlands ). Since then Jason has been at the helm. I don't admire the position he's in and I certainly don't admire the decision he , whatever. It's late. Avoir :frenchman

IANAL but if ccbill have their brand trademarked I would imagine there could be some trouble. Imagine a Pepsi website appearing on cocacola.cm. :helpme

FWIW, I was with Verotel from 2003 to 2013. I haven't personally had any major problems with them.

Wow. I guess Verotel agrees it would be better to go with CCBill.

Verotel is great for very niche websites who may be rejected by the other IPSPs.
Their processing throughput is as good as the others, but not as good as your own merchant. But matching ccbill/epoch/et al, is amazing.
Setup was very easy. Somewhat confusing, but less difficult than ccbill.

For those looking to process with them, keep in mind most people WONT take your cross-sells. That's a big revenue stream lost.

Yes, I agree with you 100%. There were 2 or 3 fabulous staff front-persons there back in the day. Then they each got axed in a short space of time - or maybe got fedup and quit.... and a new merciless head-crew took over; that is, they were merciless to former smaller webmasters. It was a big uproar at the time over how they shook things up. They had other flaws at Verotel but I never used their affiliate program so I can't judge it.
