Many Americans who call themselves white might be surprised to find out that they have some African ancestry. Especially in the South.

In a study published in the American Journal of Human Genetics in December 2014, researchers used the ancestry data compiled by the commercial genetic testing company 23and Me to measure the percentage of African ancestry of people who self-identified as white. It turns out that self-identified white people who live in the South have the highest concentrations of African DNA.

In South Carolina and Louisiana ? the states shaded the darkest green on the map above ? researchers found that one in 20 people who called themselves white had at least 2 percent African ancestry. And in a lot of the South, about 10 percent of people who identified as white turned out to have African DNA.

actually, there is no proof that all mankind came from Africa, it's just the most popular theory at the moment. it could turn out to be true or it could turn out that one of the other theories are true but it remains just a theory and not a fact.

South has had significant amount of black slaves. But to be more correct, we all have 100 percent of African ancestry.

There is enough proof about that, pretty much as much as you can get from past events.

What is the other theory? Bunch of apes around the world, those appeared from nothing, evolved to same kind of humans around the globe? Sure, that sounds swell.

But in reality; nothing comes from nothing to start with. And I strongly doubt that you evolved from some European fish, and developed as the exact same kind of specie than the folks in Africa.

Well, that theory is quite bullshit anyway, and far from what you claim being "not from Africa". For starters it is very unlikely that we would have evolved such alike from such far away specie in our evolution three. And besides, that theory suggests that there was much interbreeding between species, aka between these local populations evolved from Homo erectus and between Homo sapiens (besides genetic studies don't support that). So, what part is not coming from Africa?

And the counterargument from the supporters of that theory is that the genetic material from those outside populations of Homo erectus has been lost in genetic drift or selective sweep. So anyways, the result is the DNA of Homo sapiens (+ tad Homo neanderthal, etc.), aka that folk that most recently left from Africa.
