Just swimming along, thinking I was going to get a free meal ... |
cute but has nothing to do with catch and release...I fish mostly catch and release there is no throwing on ice...usually we dont even take the fish out of the water...ya lift the head grab the hook with a hook extractor give it a twist and off goes the fish

You owe me three seconds of my life back. Fuckface.
|
I like to fish but don't eat it so usually give it to someone or throw it back in. :2 cents:
|
If fish could speak.... ha, yes, that's pretty much what I'd expect them to, like, what the actual fuck,... say.
:D I think I've fished catch-and-release maybe 1% of my entire fishing life. If it's the wrong kind of fish or it's too small then of course it's a throw-back. But I love fish far too much to start tossing back keepers. |

Same here. Funny video though. |
It's a huge issue here in the UK, all fresh water is catch and release.
Course fishing is one of the biggest partisipation sports in the country. Eastern Europeans came over and think we are all mad. Fish is for eating for them. It's led to some petty scary scenes. |
Catch & Release fishing is pretty stupid and pointless. The hook goes right through its face, sometimes through its eye or brain, possibly blinding it, probably causing lots of pain, and then its thrown back in the water to die a slow death from wound, infection, etc.
I *love* natural lakes, and fishing can be a great way to relax. But if its illegal to fish, I'd be just as happy on the boat or canoe, in the middle of the lake, enjoying the view or taking a nice long snooze. Poor fish! |
Personally I think I'd move out of any country that outlawed fishing.
To me a law like that would speak volumes about how fucking lazy my government was. Plus it simply would not set well with Canadians, period. We are hunters, fishermen, outdoorsmen by nature. If any lake or region starts having problems with low fish counts conservation Canada seems to be on top of it with setting limits on a per-species basis, restocking procedures and/or temporary bans on that one lake, etc until fish populations are back up. I won't say fishing is as big a deal here as hockey is, but it's close. |
About catch and release: it is totally for human pleasure to start with, as is pretty much everything else we do. It is not for the fishes the more than chicken nuggets are for chickens.
From fish point of view; they rather not get caught at all, but if they do, I think that most want to stay alive, even as badly wounded. At least, if some aliens would do some human catching, I would rather leave as wounded than dead, if those are the only options. |

Don't worry about it. My big brother Steve is a real outdoors kinda a guy (and loves his guns too). I drive him crazy too. |
