One more nail in Koch's coffin.

Sadly until these things are 100% affordable it wont change anything.

Yes because I guess in your future "utopia" everyone can afford $100k+ for a car.

Or is your utopia one where only the elites get to live and all of the lowly "commoners" have been somehow eliminated?

As for the car - very nice.

im sorry. does electricity grow on trees, or is it made burning koch coal?

:)

This isn't even a 100K + car, it is literally a supercar that has best estimates of price in excess of $250K+.

It says almost 300 mile range, but if you actually drive it like a supercar is meant to be driven, it can't even manage 3 full laps of Nurburgring before the batteries are dead.

Looking at all these "electric attempts" in the car industry i find myself loving more and more everything with a "vintage" sticker on it…

I am sure there will be a market for clean and silent cars. I just hope we won't be forced to use them one day due to some "regulations".

Yes indeed. They have just opened a new coal power plant in so-called "green" Germany to power the parade of all of these new Audi supercars down the Autobahn.

Vattenfall?s Hamburg coal-fired power unit finally set to activate

Quote:

Vattenfall plans to start full commercial operations of the long-delayed first unit (800 MW Moorburg B) of its new coal-fired power plant at Hamburg-Moorburg in Germany.

The Swedish company?s Germany unit plans the commencement before the end of February, a spokeswoman for the utility said Tuesday.

The start date has already been postponed several times since the first coal fire in the boiler of block B in August 2013.

The second unit at the 1,600 MW dual-block power plant (Moorburg A) had its first grid synchronization on January 29 and is on track for start of commercial operations this summer, the spokeswoman added.

Platts reports that Moorburg is one of seven new coal-fired projects in Germany with a combined capacity of more than 7000 MW entering operations between late 2013 and early 2015. Most of these projects were planned almost a decade ago.

A number of projects were delayed due to quality problems with the so-called T24 steel used for the boilers, while the testing phase usually takes several months.

Oh but you will be because CO2, once known scientifically as a life giving trace gas, is now politically mandated as a pollutant of epic proportions.

True, true. It's all good then. Bonus points if they install a wind turbine and some solar panels at the site.

Would love to. Prices are still high and panels aren't super efficient yet, but its getting better all the time.

The earth needs CO2 of course, but if there's too much of it, things go coo-coo. We need to help keep things balanced around here...

Here in Niagara it's water falling off a cliff, turning turbines (well, to be more precise water diverted from the Niagara River above the Falls that turns the turbines).

No coal in the equation.
