Holy upsell... mainstream
I just ordered a pressure cooker that claims to be able to make pulled pork in like 40 minutes. King crab legs in 3 minutes. A bunch of stuff normally cooked in crock pot for 4 hours, in 20 minutes. Insane cooking ability basically.
So I was in. 3 payments of $33.33 each month.
I called, got an automated system with female voice. I was asked how many I wanted after about 4 minutes of telling me what I already knew about the system. Said I wanted 1 pressure cooker. That lead into if I wanted more pressure cookers for reduced rate. That then led into about 3 different shipping warranty offers which I had no interest in since S&H already was $29.99.
That's just the beginning. I was offered coupons and rebates to Walmart etc. I had to listen to the speach entirely before I could say "no". When I said no, the automated female person would spin it again and offer the same thing, using different words. I would say no and no and no.
Then, I get offered a trip to Florida for 3 days and make sure to say hi to Mickey. I say no after the long speach. She says "That's ok, how about a trip to Vegas?". Had to listen to that whole thing before I could say no.
Offered more upgrades to what I bought again, said no.
The call lasted exactly 25 minutes and it was "INSANE" upselling. They pushed "HARD" the free coupons and rebates. It's like $30 bucks per month and you get like $500 in savings each and every month. It is, by far, the hardest upsell I have ever encountered anywhere. Makes adult card banging look like childs play and a time out.
# 1-800-375-7329 if you want to give it a whirl (may be a temp number just for tonight). Fairly certain you can use bogus card number and get through the entire shabang... saying "no" to every offer will mean you will be on phone for a min. of 25 minutes.
