Does anyone know of any studies or statistics that show which sectors of the adult industry are the most popular, or the most profitable, or both?

Cams, dating, fetishes, weird niches, mass produced K-Mart porn. In that order.

A very naive question to be honest

How profitable it is, depends on your businessmodel and how well you execute it.

There are lots of people making a fortune in a sector with low profitmargin, and other making nothing in a sector with high profitmargin.


Understand your sector and know how and how much to scale it

Ok let me rephrase the question.

Everyone once in a while you will hear that the online adult industry generates billions a year.
My questions are:

#1. Who says this,
#2. How do they know, and
#3. Which sector of the industry generates the most revenues? And how do they know?

I think there was an article on porhub's or awe's blog about this... As i remember, sweden and norway spend the most on adult cams..

Also if you take into account that the guy with xvideos paid 8mil $ for porno.com, you can see where the money are...

There must be money in porn but 99% of them are probably concentraded around the big tubes
