Wet plate photography - Looking for educational resources
I've posted this on a couple of other sites so why not here.
If anyone knows of a good book or similar resource on how wet plate photography is done. I would really appreciate the recommendation. Thanks |
You should find books about this in good second-hand bookstores, sometimes there's something at ebay. A German magazine (photoklassik[dot]de) entered the market only a few months ago. Since "real" photography is becoming a matter of status the movement seems to be growing. (I rediscovered shooting on film two years ago - big love.)

I was interested in this "technology" but decided to invest my time learning platinum printing instead. Wet plate collodion images all have the same look, platinum printing (like traditional silver-based printing) is way more versatile, IMHO. It's a look, just like HDR is a look. |

I'm actually going to do this for a client. It's the old story of I've never done this but the gig pays well so I lied and said I had done it before. Thanks for the help I'll let you know how it turns out |
