Diabetes might be possible. I do have people (one person) in my family that has it. I guess Doctor time

Markul 03-14-2015 11:41 AM

I was (naturally) assuming that you were not serious. Doctor time indeed!

Reading. Shit looks doubled. For instance, what I could read on a bottle of medication 6-9 months ago? Fucking clueless now without "reading glasses". As soon as I put them on? Crystal clear.

I am 38 years old. I am not sure if that makes a difference or not. Also, I could read a street sign from 50-75 yards away prior. Shit looks almost doubled, and shutting one eye or the other doesn't make fuck all of a difference. :2 cents:

It's a normal thing for your age

Are you being serious or a cock? 100% of the time you tell it like it is... I just want to make sure you're not fucking with me.

MakeMeGrrrrowl 03-14-2015 12:04 PM

It's true. Soon as I hit 41 I started to have the same issue. So have my friends. Totally normal.

Sorry I missed your post. Yes, I run high blood pressure but not ridiculously high.

A few points over what they call the norm. I do smoke however. I have tried to quit via vaping, but jesus christ I keep going back. 3-10 days on vape and right back to Camel Filters :disgust

You really should quit, in 10 years your lungs will be completely repaired and maybe you'll find a girl willing to kiss you if you don't have gross cigarette breath. :2 cents:

I tried the Wides years back and it felt to "cigar-y" if you know what I mean.

Also, fuck you for calling me a pussy. I will brain fuck your skull.

I jest... I jest.

Also thanks for the link. :winkwink:

Normal or not, it doesn't mean you shouldn't get a checkup and make sure it's not a symptom of somethjng else

GregE 03-14-2015 12:29 PM

Could be Astigmatism.

3 Astigmatism Types and How to Correct Them

Usually - but not always - shutting one eye makes the symptoms go away. So maybe not in your case, but you should get checked for it nonetheless.

candyflip 03-14-2015 12:52 PM

Fluid in your neck somewhere? My girl has something similar and the pressure effects her optic nerves.

dyna mo 03-14-2015 01:00 PM

Its not diabetes, so you can rule that out.

Me too. It was kind of scary for someone who has eagle vision.

I just got my first pair of glasses.

"Viagra may cause dizziness, drowsiness, fainting, or blurred vision. These effects may be worse if you take it with alcohol"

aka123 03-14-2015 01:56 PM

You are fucked if your vision towards both near and far objects is weakening rapidly. For near objects; quite normal thing, both; you probably have alien parasite, like the one from Alien- movie. Vision towards far objects doesn't usually weaken that much as older. Not to mention that rapidly to either way.

:2 cents: from me Indian guy, you know. Although you keeping me as Indian might have something to do with that eyesight thing. :)

SilentKnight 03-14-2015 02:02 PM

In my youth I always had perfect 20-20 vision.

Years of photo-editing and staring intently at a screen about two feet away for long periods of time eventually caused my eyes to only be able to focus at that distance. First started noticing it as halos around street lights when I'd drive at night. My depth perception was shot - couldn't judge the distance accurately.

Everything closer or farther away requires glasses now. Progressive trifocals did the trick.

My wife did the same thing when she was about 40. I'm still good at 43 but I know it's coming soon.

I was thinking the same thing. having issues with close up stuff is very common but you are a bit young. Having issues with stuff far away is not good.

You don't mess with white powdery substances do you? Another possibility.

Tam 03-14-2015 03:57 PM

When my vision started going double in 2007, I went to the Dr and was told I have Diabetes - having a family history of it, I knew it was coming but wasn't sure when - but my vision was double on everything - near and far, reading or not...

It can also be just aging - 38 doesn't seem that old to me, but sitting in front of the pc can deteriorate your vision pretty good - causing stress on your eyes.

You should just go see the Dr - I can't think of a single thing that can come out of double vision that is good.

SongRider 03-14-2015 03:59 PM

A BIG part of me just wanted to say "God is probably striking you blind for being such an asshole" But that would put ME on that same level as YOU of kicking people when they are down... and I cant do that.

As you get older your eyes get..... for lack of a better term - "tired" Try some cheap reading glasses... If that don't help then by all means go see a doctor... vision loss is nothing to fuck with... wish you luck. :thumbsup

I have shitty vision, too (well, eyesight - I am a visionary) so know a thing or two about this subject.

First, go listen to Foriegner's 'Double Vision' to set the mood.

Second, go to a drug store and buy yourself some Ocuvite vitamins and gobble a handful a day.

Third, go to eye doctor or, if funds are low, eye glass place for a free vision test.

Fourth, check into lasix, contacts and/or bifocals.

Do NOT wait. Macular degeneration, cateracts, glaucoma, all kinds of shit happens when you neglect your eyes. Staring at all these screens we stare at every day doesn't help, either.

Oh - and sunglasses anytime you go out (for now), even when not sunny.

Good luck man!!

Sure, because any reasonable person knows that at the first hint of medical problems, the very first thing you should do is starve yourself as a solution. That's just common sense.

I lost my eyesight to making and reviewing galleries like mad in mid 2000's.

Does anyone else eyes start to blur and hurt when reading a thread about eyes hurting?

RummyBoy 03-15-2015 08:35 AM

with 18000 posts dude...... you need to take a rest.

You shouldn't be looking at a screen for more than 4 hours a day max.

Yeah, talking about eyes will make my eyes start to water.

Harmon - it could be almost anything - vitamin A deficiency, parasites, macular degeneration, etc. Go see an optometrist.
