So, it's been a year and a half since the thread where PornNerd announced the switch from Peabody to PornNerd and I called him out for over-writing affiliate IDs on Porn Nerd Network (formerly Mister Peabodys World) - this is the site you are directed to when you click the 'Updates' tab on the PornNerd sites.

At that time, he said he was waiting on billing approval and all affiliates would be credited blah, blah, blah.

Since then, he has been a model poster here: supportive and friendly, and often quite funny. So, I decided to give his program another chance and give it a fresh review. That is, until I found that nothing has changed! Well, that's not quite right - affiliate IDs are now being overwritten with '2439259' where before it was '2026216' when surfers hit that 'updates' page.

I debated about opening this can of worms again, but decided those here promoting the PornNerdCash program deserved to know.

Man, I wanted to like you and honestly wanted to let bygones be bygones and give your program a brand new and hopefully favorable review, but when you treat your affiliates unfairly, this is what you get.

I took screenshots in case someone made the proof or ban call, but wouldn't checking it out for yourself be more conclusive?

Unless I am missing something, and I don't think that I am, that means the referring affiliate 2265877 would have lost that sale to 2439259. Or, am I wrong?

To avoid this type of trouble NATS is the best solution with no such issues...

I am pretty sure he's working on a NATS switchover. I have seen him mention and ask questions about it.

Just wanted to direct you to my original post. He's been a great guy lately, that's why I wanted to forgive and forget about the past and give the program an updated review.

wtf does nats have to do with this? As if replacing aff-id's is some sort of a tech error that happens at ccbill/epoch/whatever type of networks and nats is the answer to resolve the problem....

First I should probably read the entire thread but I am posting this the instant I saw this. FIRST let me say Thank You NewB for pointing this out to me. Seriously, for real.

Here's is EXACTLY what has happened. This weekend, beginning Friday night, I was replacing every table of thumbnails on every one of my sites (updating them). As I did so for Porn Nerd Network - which is also a paysite and can be joined independantly - I refreshed the template. This was very late Friday night-early Sat morning. Apparently when I refreshed that template the OLD template with affiliate codes was updated. I did not even notice until this thread because I am still updating sites.

Please go to Porn Nerd Network now and see it has been deleted/reverted to how it has been for YEARS now. I sincerely apologize for any confusion and if ANY affiliates feel they were not properly compensated for their traffic contact me IMMEDIATELY and we will set things straight.

For the record: that file should NOT have been there, it was deleted years ago (or so I thought). But when we switched to new servers a few months back aparently it was copied over. Again, this was a mistake and it was only there for two days max.

Again I want to thank NewB. I saw your thread about re-reviewing Programs and thought, 'Good, now he will see how everything is as it should be." LOL So again I thank him.

Now I will go and read all this.

I want to believe you. I really do. I've had incredible coincidences occur that the reality was just too implausible despite that being the way things actually occurred. BUT, wayback indicates that those hard coded links have been in place since as far back as July 10.

Actually, it was. I investigated further and realized the problem. I have 7 employees with FTP access to my server and they go in almost daily. They would upload old files over-writing new ones. So when that site would refresh the old file would appear again. I did not realize this but shit happens, especially with out-sourced overseas employees and a 12 hour time differance. I have now confirmed EVERY employee has this bad file deleted so this will never happen again.

I advertise for affiliates, I post here a lot, I knew this review of my Program was coming. This was not intentional and I am furious this happened. But I do want to thank NewB again for pointing this out. You can believe me or not but what can I do? Mistakes happen and I am sorry. This won't happen again now.

Proof was posted and backed up. He gave some bullshit excuse and that excuse was proven to be false.

Proof has been provided, you just choose to ignore it. For the past 8 months or so, he's been cheating anyone sending traffic to his sites.

A bullshit excuse that was proven to be false? By who? I've been sending traffic to his sites and have been getting paid by CCBill for sales. So you are accusing Mr. Porn Nerd of cheating then based on exactly what now?

That wrong file was uploaded, deleted, re-uploaded, over-written, deleted....on and on until I discovered the problem. It was NOT up there constantly. Now the file is completely gone and I have actually fired 5 of my employees. Not over this per se but because things overall have gotten a little sloppy.

I will apologize one last time then not comment anymore because it was an honest mistake and there's nothing I can do about it now except make amends to any affiliate who feels slighted.

BTW: All this is over a site that gets 500 hits a day. Barely any sales whatsoever come from that site, it is simply a central 'hub' to give the Network some shape. Also, surfer behavior does not mean people click that link, by-passing the site they are already on. So any actual overwrites were so tiny I doubt there was any damage to affiliates at all.

BUT if ANY affiliate wants to go over their account, traffic, sales etc contact me via ICQ or email and you will be compensated immediately that day by PayPal.

Honest mistakes do happen people. I am a one-man show not a 'Bro' or a baller or Chris Mallick. ICQ in sig for affiliates to contact me.

I did not intend for this to become a witch-hunt. I realize now I should have contacted him privately and given him the chance to fix the issue and failing that brought the issue here. In my defense, though, this was a bit of a hot-button topic for me provided our past history, and I was kind of incensed at the time.

As I said above, I have been in implausible scenarios that were not at all what they appeared, so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt here. Intentional or not, I think he knows he's burned through his second chances and he's going to be under a lot of scrutiny from here on out.

Ruff - I assume you're the same Ruff whose program he bought, meaning you aren't all that impartial. Even if it was an honest mistake that doesn't change the fact that the mechanism was in place to shaft referring affiliates - perhaps unknowingly, but there nonetheless. Trying to make this out to be some sort of smear campaign is disingenuous.

No worries man. While a private contact is always better, I am also an emotional fellow at times so I understand. When I thanked you I meant it. I would not have noticed if you did not say something.

The thing about that site is that it's totally 100% automated. The thumbs rotate and update on a script, as does the video previews, and I have it like that so I do NOT have to check it every day. LOL In fact, I think I touch that site 3-4 times a year max (I have updates set for months in advance). That's really how I missed it being refreshed at times. If I checked that site daily I would've caught it.

Anyway, moving forward there should be no issues. Feel free to check as often as possible, I could use the traffic. :)

As for Ruff: he's a good man who also reacted right away. He now knows the full story. His former sites, the Aggressive Network, do not have that updates link, nor does my other AP Erotic Revenue.

Both OP and PornNerd worked this out in a mature way.

If the problem would have been refreshing templates then the old aff-id 2026216 would be in the links again... because that was the aff-code that was in the links right before you removed those links in september 2013 after this thread:

But now aff-codes were not being overwritten by: aff-id 2026216 but overwritten by: aff-id 2439259. So... doesn't it seem that this is not an old but a recent problem? (unless you changed aff-id 2026216 into aff-id 2439259 right before the links were removed in sept. 2013... but then again... what would have been the logic of that?)

It doesn't sound logic to now overwrite aff-id's after first affaire in 2013.... every program owner knows he is being watched and tested... especially after a first "affaire"... (but i don't understand why there was a set up which over-wrote aff-id's in the first place...)

Have you thought of the possibility of an employee with server acces that secretly signed up as an affiliate and put that new aff-id in the code?

option A: Hi, I offer a service whereby I check your program and each site within it for possible fuckups, to ensure all is correct. I charge $xx per site, with a discount for a once-monthly check per site.

How come I have only ever seen option B? Obviously *some* (few, really) instances programs are going to be shady, but does anyone *really* believe this wasn't just a fuckup, and that it was intentional? Wasn't there a long-ass multi-page thread just a few months ago where affiliates were nigh on salivating with hope that a program was purposely doing something shady, rather than understanding that any medium to large network is likely to hit snags, especially with updating, whether that be tours for a paysite, or 'free' sites? Has nobody here ever came across a site/page where they had the wrong linkcode up, or were linking to a 404 page, or any one of a number of possible mistakes?
