I would love some advice...

Okay, so I built a tube (Free Tube at Ride the Tube!) and I put a bunch of videos on it and I worked on the template. I added Plugrush popunders, JuicyAds, sponsor links for all the videos, and premium video alternative and cams white labels.

I bought $300 worth of Plugrush traffic. I bought the high quality clicked traffic and set it 500 visitors per hour. That traffic has now run through and here is what I have to show for it...

Plugrush - $0.67
Juicy Ads - $0.97

So, I turned $300 into less than $2 in three days.

I would love some advice or thoughts on where I should go from here. Please don't tell me to quit, as I'm not ready to do that yet. :)

what did you think would happen exactly?

When you invest in a business, even one that you know a lot about, normally it takes a huge amount of time, sometimes years to even see a profit.

Oh, I expected it would go exactly as it did. I'm not hurt or upset or ready to give up. But, I have put a lot of work into the site so far, and I'm interested in any opinions or advice that the experts may have. Am I headed the right direction or do I need to fix something now while the site is young?

Why would you send paid traffic to banners and pops to make revenue you should be sending that direct to the sponsor.

420 03-16-2015 04:27 PM

The clips are too short. If I've wanked to another tube I don't want 2 minute clips. I clicked 'longest' and they're 6 minutes. I'm gone without even watching a video. To be honest, I would've been gone sooner but I ignored the theme/color scheme cause you asked me to look at it.

It sounds like you're getting paid per click. You need way cheaper (preferably free) traffic. I wouldn't buy expensive "premium" traffic to send to an ordinary adsense page. You know what I mean? That stuff is for sending to an offer you can monetize the leads and sales on.

gebu 03-16-2015 04:50 PM

I doubt that Plugrush will re-buy the traffic that they sold to you. Also what was your bounce rate?

Barry-xlovecam 03-16-2015 05:49 PM

Your videos are all flash--if any of the traffic was mobile non-flash it was 100% wasted.

If the traffic was all PC 98% would have Flash enabled.

If the 'clicks' triggered a pop up/under 98% to 99% get closed.

Barry-xlovecam 03-16-2015 06:11 PM

'If the 'clicks' triggered a pop up/under 98% to 99% get closed.'
That wouldn't matter if you were getting paid for traffic into the network.

It would matter to me if the popup was mine ...

Manfap 03-17-2015 04:28 AM

ride the tube?

turn that into a surfing tube, embed from youtube. google adds.

Tom-LifeSelector 03-17-2015 10:43 AM

The cheapest way to get traffic is skimmed traffic I think it is a good way to boost up your visitor numbers but the quality is low or you can buy hardlinks or find a "SEO Guru" but these are expensive...

brentbacardi 03-17-2015 04:23 PM

The pink/purple background blinded the shit out of me.

But FYI: Whoever is doing the pop up ads, has the NSA security lock ad showing requesting I give them money via Paypal.

Mind sharing which company is doing that?

If you would have invested that money in paying a girl or two to do a solo video, then put that video up on Clips4Sale, you would have made more money :thumbsup

Content is King but traffic & tube people are very good at convincing others that they are where the money's at. If there was no content on tubes, traffic brokers & tubes would have no income.

If you want to be successful long term the formula is simple, create your own content and members base in a niche you like. They can buy a clip, or you could have a monthly membership after you get enough content. Some tubes know this and use the money made off stolen content to create/buy their own unique content :winkwink:

All new businesses lose money in the beginning but you're looking at why, reflecting, and adjusting, that's a key quality of successful people and that's why I'm responding. Good luck!

The simple truth is that you have to have defined goals before asking for advice... or even before you start a business and invest time and money.

You did the minimum in terms of effort, you spent a few bucks, you lost it and now you are asking random clowns for "advice". If you don't have a plan, don't have goals, don't have benchmarks and have no idea if you're moving forward or backward, no one can give you meaningful advice to achieve a particular goal.

You will fail. That's obvious. Failng to plan is planning to fail. You do random things, you'll be disappointed each time, you'll fumble around and ultimately declare the industry and those in it are to blame.

His plan was to create a site and make money. Too bad he didn't think of it when he joined gfy in 2002. I think he should set a goal to go back to 2002 and create the first tube. :clown

Dead 03-17-2015 05:48 PM

Fuck if I know, but if you want advice I say change your whole business model. This one is going nowhere.
I don't think that site is giving anyone any value. Maybe if you niched it like a tube with only old women, or black girls, only asians etc.
Otherwise no reason for me to come back.
A lot of categories say "No videos found" then you shouldn't have categories listed.

Really if your site is just general and not niched you're basically selling ice to Eskimos and you'll get nowhere.
Someone suggested taking that $500 to film some content and post it to Clips 4 sale, thats a much better idea and an actual business that gives value and makes money instead of site #10,000,000 giving away streaming porn clips to freeloaders.

Ride the tube is not a good name for an adult site. If you really love that name then honestly you'd be better off making a shopify store that sells tubes like this Water Tube - Towable - Single & Multi Rider - HO Sports

Just trying to save you some money and time.
