The coffee I make at home is much better than most coffee shops.

Although I will admit there are a handful of cafe's around that make an excellent cup. Unfortunately none of them are conveniently close. Starbucks is shit coffee.

If I needed to go to work outside my home I would seriously consider a thermos.

Plus you save time of going to the shop, waiting in line. It is important if yo uare on a break (like the pic may suggest).

Love, I know that, just a good illustration of what I saw in the US when I lived there. I worked in Brooklyn and NEVER did that "thing" while tons of other people did, tell me they were saving for the next big american thing.

Yeah, you will save $1-$2k per year and pay for it with your health. Eating like that (as we say "всухомятку") is a straight way to gastritis and obesity. Hot soup, salad and second course is the necessary minimum for a dinner.

I am with BC on this one - you can bring quality handpicked food for yourself.

If you can bring hot soup / pelmeni, fresh salad, the second course (say pasta with a chicken / kasha / patoes / etc) + hot tea/coffee, then of course it's healthy and you are ok with that. But I doubt any sane person would bring so many dishes to his work :)

Why buy the food? Go to the nearest cafe (not fast food of course) and have a good and healthy food there served to you by a waiter.

Yes, of course. But at least 3 dishes (soup, second course and tea/coffee) of those must be hot. Ok, you Americans live in a warm climate and you prefer an ice tea. No prob with that, but soup and the second course (say pasta with a meat/chicken) must be hot. I doubt a plastic container will keep them warm.

The problem with buying lunch can be, lack of time, cost, and no good local restaurants.

As far as heating lunch brought from home just microwave it.

As a practical health related matter, most people I know would benefit greatly from having lunch consist of fresh fruit, cut up vegetables, a salad and some nuts. One good healthy natural meal each day will also be the easiest.

A straight and direct one. Hot soup once a day is just necessary for our stomachs. As about the second course, so usually it's just tasteless is it's cold. E.g. did you try to eat a cold pasta with a cold rissole or chicken?
