Google Page Rank

What is the current situation with this, how does it work now?

TeenCat 03-18-2015 03:17 AM

Google PR - it matters and it's updated constantly

Google toolbar PR - it doesn't matter and it's not updated anymore

Google Will (Probably) Not Be Updating Toolbar PageRank Again

They learned very slowly that if you tell people what they need to do in order to increase PR, people will generally learn how to game the system. If you keep their information minimal, it will reduce their trying.

There's no point trying to build PR, just build good sites with good content.

Websites with authority rank on the top (ie: xxx tubes). The only way to increase authority is links. You can have the best site in the World, and you will never rank with no links, unless you update it 3 or 5 times a day. This is not a complete explanation, and a lot of people wont agree, but this is, more or less, what it is. Small groups of high authority websites take most of the traffic in every niche (at least adult, I am not familiar with anything else, but it it most likely the same).

There is the Trust Rank thing too (I am not sure about it, I just read about it today) - hand picked websites with the most trust from Google.com (could be PornHub.com, xVideos.com, and so on).

As I know PR will not be updated anymore

johnny_d 03-19-2015 12:40 AM

PR of gfy.com

I am still showing it on all domains with an add on for Chrome. As far as I understand, this is old info from 2013. I would say that it is still good, since it is from Google, and there is nothing newer than this... I guess it is something that is still usable / can be used.

u keep working to get pr then make a mistake and lose it
it always worked like that

NatalieK 03-19-2015 06:29 AM

It seems my site is ranked the same as Reality Kings, shame I haven't the same amount of back links lol :thumbsup

Last PR update was in November 2013,after that Matt Cutts announced that there will be no more updates. The PR patent expiring very soon.
If you mention pr or alexa rank in a discussion even with semi-serious IMers you will be laughed at.
