Recommend a video game for 60+

Hi

Want to buy a video game (pc) for a 60+ person.

I've been looking at sim city 5, it's cheap at this point so if it's not wanted it's not a big deal.

Can be playable in your own pace, no stress etc and high entertainment.

I had a look at farming simulator 2015 as well, but looks rather boring if you ask me.

What would you recommend? Im sure someone here will come with a good suggestion that I havn't thought of.

GTA, everyone likes speeding and ho's.

brassmonkey 03-18-2015 05:28 PM

google "flashback game consoles" :thumbsup:thumbsup they have atari colecovision genesis each is like 40 bucks and they have a bunch of games built in

twitchie 03-18-2015 05:32 PM

Instead of sim city 5 get Cities: Skylines. It's way more fun.

I have to agree here: this is a way better option. Game is great for any age!

Get two subscriptions to pogo. They have lots of simple, easy to learn games and an active community of older people. A lot of the games are multiplayer so you could play together.

I hear rochard is champion of wii bowling at the old folks home, but that's a console game.

Try Final Fantasy 1 to 13 (skip 11, it's a MMO).

Just don't fall out of the chair and break a hip while playing that game...we will have to put you down.

Spunky 03-18-2015 09:37 PM

I'm digging Sniper Elite III right now

DraX 03-18-2015 11:01 PM

I did look for some NES retro collection. But seems there's too much to purchase.

Best thing would be 1 NES cartridge with all or nearly all NES games ever made.

By the way anyone remember the bubble booble game to NES, found it on amazon for a real bargain. :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

That game looks awesome, almost I want to get it for myself hehe.

Not sure, it might be too complex for another one though.

How does it compare with the call of duty series?

Cause call of duty is out of the question, too many things happening and thinking of at the same time.

The best game for an old person (well maybe not 60+, maybe 70+) is TETRIS. The studies say it seriously develops brain. This helps to prevent senile dementia etc.

aka123 03-19-2015 02:39 AM

Game based on age? Well, I might get it if we were talking about kids, but at the age of 60+ the man has "collected" a huge set of preferences. What he likes about, what he does; work, hobby, etc.

War games; arm chair general style, simulation style?
Sim city style of games?
Adventure games?
Arcade games?
Simulation games, like racing, flying, fishing.

Some nice point and click style adventure games. Maybe he does like to solve some murder mysteries, etc.?

Not as intense as COD, I like the fact you're a sniper and not as fast paced .It could be a little graphic as it does show bullets entering the different parts of the body of the victim and what damage it causes.

angry birds and candy crush, et al. my 65 year old mother is addicted to those games.
She lines up her mobile, tablet and laptop beside her during the evening and rotates across the machines when she runs out of game lives!

PR_Glen 03-19-2015 08:02 AM

my grandfather finally took me up on my long time offer to try out some F1 racing games. Got him an xbox 360 and a steering and peddle system and he loved it. he was 86 playing that shit and he loved it.

older guys don't only like slow boring shit, they get enough of that in real life...

They do make those, but a bit pricey. But not when you take into account the price of purchasing the individual games.

PowerPak - retroUSB

Just need a original NES (probably get those for around $50), then download the complete rom set.
