RIP Internet Explorer
Bye Bye Internet Explorer. Never really used it anyways. I was a Netscape Navigator type in the earliest days.

Good riddance.

All my dreams have finally come true! :thumbsup
Isn't it something like 50% of PC users that use IE? They'll probably keep using it for years without updates.
hmm this can be a problem with some browser based softwares (submitters softwares for example)
May be a good idea for Microsoft to cut a deal with Firefox. Tell Firefox that they will package their Browser with Windows 10, If they make Bing the default search engine.
you gotta be a fucking retard to use IE, that shit is........shit

But I'm sure MS would find a way to fuck up the Firefox integration - turn it into bloatware. |
Could never seem to get that browser to work properly on my machines, adios
The truly sad part of this is M$ seems to believe it's just a stigma about a name vs a bad product. If they spent time making a "working" browser maybe they wouldn't have to look for a new name..
My bet is their "new browser" will just be a re-branded IE with all the same compatibility problems. |

IE crap
I just love it when I need to fill out a form for a business or government agency and you can only use IE.
I wanted to fill out a form for a state agency and their requirements are: MS Windows 7 - must have Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) MS Vista - Internet Explorer 6 (IE6), Internet Explorer 7 (IE7), and Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) MS XP - Internet Explorer 6 (IE6), Internet Explorer 7 (IE7), and Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) MS XP Tablet - Internet Explorer 6 (IE6) and Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) Using an older version than those listed above can cause difficulties such as: data not displaying on part or all of the screen, buttons and icons disappearing, and blank windows on the screen. Each supported browser requires installation of the Oracle Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 1.4.2 or above. WTF? |
Well it is just the name. They could have done the same new browser and kept the name. Just like Opera did for example.
And then Seth would not say "Good riddance" but instead would hate on it just because it kept the IE name :) |
I wish it was RIP Microsoft
Excellent news! IE always was a giant piece of shit, especially before MS adopted the concept of browser tabs.
Good its fucking shit
It fucking sucks, so buh-bye.

I just switched back to Chrome because IE was acting weird. Now which browser will I try when Chrome starts fucking up again?
Ironically reading this thread on Iexplorer. But no, I normally don't use it, was just checking some compability when I ended up here. (Drifting off to easy)

Yay!

Now I can imagine the conversation:
- This is IE? - THIS IS SPARTAAAn :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh |
IE was good for one thing and one thing only... to download Firefox.
You gotta give IE credit for sticking around as long as it did...it was shit, but it had a good run :)
Way back it was the best browser now i cantimagine using it

So my AOL is still going to work????Right?
yup slap a coat of paint on it give it a new name and spend millions on marketing...instead of spending millions on making it right...Thats microsoft for ya...
I remember back in the mid 1990's after IE had been launched I was working in a University IT shop, and Microsoft sent a representative to visit us to get our feedback on IE. Me and several coworkers sat in this meeting ripping on why we hated Internet Explorer and many other Microsoft Products, and this guy sat there and wrote everything we said down in his notebook. At the time IE hadn't been too well received as Netscape was still king, but the next year IE rolled out a much improved version and began to gain market share. So Microsoft was smart in listening to us and many other IT department frustrations to build a better product and conquer the browser world for several years.
So....what's the top 3 IE replacements?
FireFox Chrome and....? |
