Read it again. It was shit. Car obsession is worse than football one.

PornDiscounts-R 03-20-2015 09:28 AM

BEST show ever. BBC are morons for pulling it off air.
That said, if Jeremy really hit that producer then there does need to be some fall out.
But the action they toke seems a bit much.

Really really hope it will be back on.

TG isn't a car show, it's a comedy satire show that uses cars as props and set-ups for the ensuing hilarity.

stupid for bbc to pull the last 3 episodes over the fracas. that doesn't do anything but harm the show, and punish viewers.

No, thats bullshit. It's a car show that can say what it wants and then hide behind the "satire" to get away with it.

Hilarity? Really? I tried watching it a couple of times but their jokes were stupid, the host was boring, the concept didn't appeal to me, etc.

The Bullshit they tried to pull with Tesla was a disgrace, and clearly backfired.

I heard the main guy just got fired - good.

written by someone who truly does not get it. at all.

well done.

I actually only like the top show episodes where they have a challenge like buy a car for 1000gbp and then blah blah, or pick a car and it gets shipped to x and drive to y. The episodes where they just review cars are boring as shit. For the most part they are reviewing cars that are like $300k+ that i will rarely even see on the road let alone give a shit what it drives like.

It seems like a big marketing stunt to me.

Show makes 300 million pounds a year. Really going to boot a guy for a punch? Unlikely.

that's the thing though, bbc lost 4+ million viewers (out of 5 million total) with the first canceled episode. It crossed my mind it's a stunt, mostly because the show is driven (get it, driven!) by stunts. every second of the show is scripted, certainly the marketing could be too. but if this was planned, they shot themselves in the foot and are losing a lot of money.

even if money didn't matter, why cancel the episodes? broadcasting them doesn't impede the investigation into the fracas, it doesn't punish clarkson, it doesn't pay back the producer who got hit. seems knee-jerk to me.

Richard & James are not performing for any more shows until the BBC bring back Jeremy.

There's been lots of petitions in the UK for the BBC to bring back topgear & Jeremy :thumbsup

Good for them. There is NO Top Gear BBC without Jeremy.

pimpmaster9000 03-20-2015 03:21 PM

it is a good show but it has an "agenda" against some car manufacturers and the models do not get really fair reviews...

This isn't true. Top Gear gives every car, fair & honest trials, unless being humorous, like the BritVGermany shows, but then you know it's meant in humor. & for the show to try out small hatchbacks & cars you don't expect on a 'fast car' show, makes for good viewing even for older or younger generations with less money or slower lifestyles :2 cents:

Oh, is Vicki Butler, the girl in fifth gear? If so, I don't like that program at all! Although, my partner does. lol, family dispute when I see fifth gear or hear it on TV.
I wear the trousers :winkwink:

they are very amusing IMO but for some cars one can just sense the agenda...the tesla review was complete crap, it is a monumental car for the auto industry, and it deserved a fair trial not a staged show where it "Broke down" only in their script and they fake pushing it in the garage ect...

they have every right to make fun and partly I like them for it, but to plain out fabricate shit like they did with the tesla makes me lose respect for their show in general...

then they use some cars for what they were not intended to do, like taking american cars and pretending they are rally cars...the corvette review was heavily biased, one could feel the hate towards something that is in essence a bargain super car...the corvette kicks ass for the money, if it was a 200.000$ car then I would understand ...

Come on, now. They salivate over every Jaaaaag and Rover when they don't deserve quite that level of praise except from obviously biased fanboys. That said, I still love their reviews and even grew to appreciate the SIARPC segment.

Agreed there are times when the US cars are pulled apart, especially with regards to suspension & direction, probably only because old stories stick. All in all, still a great show, and hopefully more to come in the future :thumbsup

The funniest show I saw was a couple of weeks back when they converted cars into ambulances.
The rest of the episode was shit but I was laughing so hard at this.

Same feeling in here. I hear that there was a major reason for him to hit the man on face :2 cents: - I'd say a very good reason.
