Lady Gaga = Genius

this is simply amazing.

fuck. Then Tony Bennet chimes in... awesome!

:D

MediaGuy 03-24-2015 07:02 PM

Honestly the more I unearth, the more I think Lady Gaga is a Jazz classic;

Amazing!

:D

jimmycooper 03-24-2015 07:13 PM

She's got mad skillz. It's funny how so many 'music fans' assume she has no talent because she chooses to use her talents for pop music rather than whatever genre it is they prefer.

420 03-24-2015 07:18 PM

You fellas ever heard this one?

:anon

bronco67 03-24-2015 07:20 PM

This version of Lush Life on Howard Stern blew me away. She has a really pure voice, because you get exposed bare in that studio.

Let's see Beyoncé do this. That bitch has machines helping her do everything.

Right as I wanted to go fullscreen, I forgot that you can't on embeds so I clicked to watch it directly and had to sit through an 18 second Carly Rae Jepsen advertisement. Fucking Youtube. Anyway, I had not seen that video before. It's pretty awesome

VikingMan 03-24-2015 09:39 PM

I watched that first video and the moment she opened her mouth my dog farted. Does that mean something?

Lady Gaga is a marketing genius, that's it. Does she have talent? Did Madonna have "talent"? Yes, of course - but the bar is now set so low that Madonna's (or Lady Gaga's) "talent" seems like fucking Mozart compared to the crap that's out there now.

Oh - and isn't it great how there are several "Lady Gaga"s out there touring? Funny how few people realize it's all a marketing act. Fuck, the person they are watching (and paying good money for in concert) may not even BE "Lady Gaga" but rather some other nameless bitch made up to look like her.

Fun!

I prefer 'Radio Ga Ga' from Queen.

Sorry pal, but you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Dead wrong on all points and I'm really not sure what else to say. No worries, though. I'm also sometimes wrong about things. Just not this.

Oh, and she has always admitted from day one that her name was derived from Radio Gaga. Along with Madonna, she was influenced most by Queen and David Bowie. 'Glam Rock', if you will.

Legendary performance here. He really owned that crowd.

Queen win greatest live gig poll

Queen's iconic performance at Live Aid in July 1985 has been named the world's greatest rock gig in an industry poll.
Jimi Hendrix's appearance at Woodstock in August 1969 came second, followed by the Sex Pistols' concert at Manchester Free Trade Hall in June 1976.

Radiohead's 1997 Glastonbury appearance is the most recent entry in the Top 10.

More than 60 artists, journalists and music industry executives contributed to the survey, featured in a Channel 4 special to be screened this week.

The judges lauded Queen's "show-stealing performance" at the Live Aid concert in Wembley Stadium, where singer Freddie Mercury had 75,000 people clapping in unison to Radio Ga-Ga.

Wait - how am I wrong here? I did not say Lady Gaga had anything to do with Queen, just that I like the SONG by Queen better than Lady Gaga. LOL But she was influenced by Queen - great! So how is what I said wrong?

There are several "Lady Gaga's" out there on the road giving performances simultaneously. She is 100% a corporate entity. Her talent is minimal but she is a marketing genius, getting kids to pay big bucks to see....Lady Gaga even tho she may not actually be there. LOL

Did you see SNL this weekend with what's her name dressed up in a wig with dancers doing some fucked up routine around her? She wore glasses and a wig and never moved from the mic. Why? So she can be repeated here and there with run of the mill singers wearing wigs and sunglasses and making everyone think it's her. She is going the Lady Gaga route, and more will follow.

Damn, what was that singer's name on SNL? Nikki Minaj? Izzy something? Whatever.

EDIT: Sia. that's the girl.

Didn't mind her old schoolish performance at the Oscars showing tribute to Julie Andrews. Quite impressive actually.

Don't sweat it. People are often quick to criticize that which they do not understand. Same shit happened to me after telling a bunch of my friends how awesome Katy Perry was at the Victoria's Secret fashion show in 2010. I remember thinking like "African-American please, I scored a free ticket to an awesome fashion show with super hot models and a cool crowd, took some killer ecstasy, and thought she put on a 'great show'. What did you do that was so special on that night?" And still the criticism lasted for what seemed like 2 or 3 years. One guy even still makes the occasional snide Katy Perry comment every now then. Annoying. It's not like I never claimed that she was a musical savant or anything. Just that she put on a good show. People. What can you do.

To whom did she sell out to? The Lincoln Center crowd? So what. Remember those people probably feel the same about your music as you do about Lady Gaga's music. No matter what, there will always be self-professed 'music lovers' out there with strong loyalties to their own preferred genres and eras who will judge other people and other artists from different genres and different eras which they somehow feel are inferior. Fuck all that. I have no interest whatsoever in ever participating in that silly little game. The only thing I care about is whether or not the music is good or bad. And Lady Gaga, without a doubt, is pretty freaking awesome. If anyone thinks otherwise, well I'm sorry, but they just have to keep listening until their brain is able to comprehend what their ears are hearing.

Why? What's the point in hating any entertainer? We live in an era with a multitude of options when it comes to choosing the media we consume so don't even think about trying to use the tired ass claim of 'overexposure'. Overexposure to any entertainer is nearly impossible for anyone who lives in a country that does not have a state-controlled media unless, of course, that person is a helpless retard when it comes to controlling their own environment. If you feel that any entertainer is being shoved down your throat, neither the entertainer nor the medium is the one at fault. You are.

I forget what your original post was about but I can say that there are no fake Lady Gagas out there running around fooling anyone. It was certainly her who played seven straight nights to close out Roseland last year. Shame it had to go but at least they closed out the era with style.

As far as Sia, I'm not sure what her deal is. She did something similar on Ellen. Performed while looking into a corner with her back to the audience. She must have some type of phobia or something. I know Jim Morrison couldn't face the crowd when he first started but eventually grew out of it to the point where he felt so comfortable he could just whip out his schlong. We'll see what happens with Sia. I actually think she's in her 40s so maybe that's just how she is and will always be.

There have been things written about Lady Gaga and her strange touring schedule and there were allegations there were several Lady Gaga's out there performing pre-scripted shows since the demand for her live performances were so great. Unless I dreamed the whole thing. LOL

I am not a fanboy and do not really care so will spend zero time researching where I read about all that but I'm sure someone can find something about it.

QUEEN ROCKS.

looking at her music pre record label its clear that pop radio bump bump music was not her style and she changed to get signed or sell albums. if she were true to herself she would be backed by piano or an orchestra or something other than bump bump music. i do think she has talent but sells it to make bank instead of making something beautiful.

I concur she may have strayed a bit with ARTPOP but I was impressed with how she ultimately handled the situation. Here's the letter she wrote to fans.

https://littlemonsters.com/post/52c9...96c8b7228b4f86

DWUW Video

It is late because, just like with the Applause video unfortunately, I was given a week to plan and execute it. It is very devastating for someone like me, I devote every moment of my life to creating fantasies for you. All my my most successful videos were planned over a period of time when I was rested and my creativity was honored. Those who have betrayed me gravely mismanaged my time and health and left me on my own to damage control any problems that ensued as a result. Millions of dollars are not enough for some people. They want billions. Then they need trillions. I was not enough for some people. They wanted more. I am very grateful to the photographers and designers who have always stood by me to make sure my fans are never aware of the things that happen behind the scenes, but unfortunately after my surgery I was too sick, too tired, and too sad to control the damage on my own. My label was not aware that this was going on. The next few months of ARTPOP will truly be its beginning. Because those who did not care about ARTPOP's success are now gone, and the dreams I have been planning can now come to fruition. Please forgive me that I did not foresee this coming, I never thought after all the years of hard work that those I called friends and partners would ever care so little at a time I needed them the most. Give me a chance to show you the meaning of seeing art all around you. Open your hearts to me again that I may show you the joy of us coming together through our talents, that we are stronger as a unit than when we are alone. Let me be for you the Goddess that I know I truly am, let me show you the visions that have been in my mind for two years. I love you. Forgive me monsters. Forgive me ARTPOP. You are my whole world.

I read a few places that she has Graves disease, and more specifically, Graves' ophthalmopathy. My take on one interview that I listened to was basically that she didn't feel like having her appearance torn to shreds on the interwebs.

Thanks! I love the One Wipe Charlies, especially the travel packs. I always carry some with me...god knows what kind of shitty toilet paper I'll encounter if I need to use a public toilet.

As for the song comparisons, deal. I don't really care that the songs sound similar, I was going more for the joke in my reply. I could point out a ton of songs that sound similar or like blatant rip offs (Kelly Clarkson's "Heartbeat song" and Jimmy Eat World's "The Middle).

Everytime I see Lady GaGa sing these jazzy songs I see Liza Minelli, and Liza does nothing for me.
