Those "sanctions" suck!

56 rubles for 1USD today (it was as high as 70 rubles for a dollar just a couple of months ago). WTF is going on???

http://kurs-dollara.net/image/kurs-d...blyu-month.php

So Obama was lying when he said that "Russian economy is torn to pieces"? Is there something in this World he can do w/o fuckups? The people consider him as a clown who can do nothing but gab.

mineistaken 03-26-2015 07:53 AM

I read that oil went up and that was a positive signal to ruble.

Anyway I do not get your point - ruble is still very low compared to what it was before sanctions. It had to stop dropping at some time, so wtf is your point, lol.

All economical sanctions always work for a long term. Is they don't, they are just a giglet. Let me tell you "a secret". Ruble has started dropping a long time before the so-called "sanctions". It was falling since the end of 2013, and when oil prices depreciated twice in 2014, ruble has seriously dropped as well. But how it could be related to the Obama's speech about "Russian economy which is torn to pieces"? He is a master of twaddle (there is no doubt about it) who can't do anything for real. The "torn to pieces" economy can't recover up to 20% for a couple of months, especially if "sanctions" were not lifted during that time. Otherwise those sanctions simply don't work. I thought it's just obvious...

Yes, Yes, nothing ever affects the Russia. If the Rubble goes down it's because Mr Putin wants the Ruble to go down, we all get it. Everyone gather round and bow down to our Russian overlords, they are trying very very hard to be noticed in a world that has passed them by..

Seems like earning in USD and spending money in RUB, a shitty ruble is in your interest? That being said, i think USD is dropping, not so much the ruble going up. It dropped from 3,95 to 3,70 PLN now.

Hint: Ruble has started falling since oil prices went down. There is no correlation with Ukrainian fuckup or with so-called "sanctions".

Sorry, but I can't see the Ukrainian mess on the picture above ;)

RummyBoy 03-26-2015 09:12 AM

All the sanctions has done is simply drive the BRICs away from the US and USD at a time when the US needs them and its petrodollar more than ever. Plus forced Russia and China closer together. There's also a lot of rumors going around that Russia is about to sign a major deal with India (a milestone).

Now the US is totally snubbed and isolated over the AIIB (China's Massive Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank) which all major US allies signed up for. Japan was the only standout, except that now even they're considering to join:

Very interesting video well worth watching:

USD vs RUB

US Dollar ($) ⇨ Russian Ruble (RUB)

http://i.imgur.com/BQXw52B.png

It only balanced out because funds who shorted the ruble had to close their positions at some point, and the US cooled down the dollar a bit to stay competitive. the ruble is still in the toilet :2 cents:

Idiot, I already said that it can not drop non stop. At some point of course it stopped and even bounced a little. So what? It is still MUCH MUCH MUCH on the bottom compared to normal.
There could not be any other way, it can not drop to zero, so it is only natural and expected by everyone that it stops somewhere...

The conflict (maidan) was about pro russian powers vs pro ukrainian/european powers. So it was about how much power would Russia hold in Ukraine etc. Russia was supporting janukovic as their puppet etc. So yeah, it was pretty much important thing for Russia and its economy, thus ruble was influenced.
And it was not a civil war, it was Russian vs Ukrainian war later on!

Tomorrow I'm playing badmington then going for a few beers with the family of a famous oligarch. He has Putin engraved on the back of his phone, we agree on many things including Crimea being Russian.

The funny thing is Russian companies are doing pretty good, at least the big ones, most Micex indexed companies are showing growth.

But you had to choose the Ruble, the only indicator that is still in the toilet.
