Final Cut Pro X: Clips larger than source?
I'm new to Final Cut Pro and am stumped. I have a 15 minute video that I'm taking a 5 minute segment out of. I want the 5 minute segment as its own video. I go to Share, set up a profile that says match the source, and the result is a file that is four times larger than the original! The original file is 150 MB, the 5 minute segment is 500 MB!
How is that possible? What do I need to do to get a good quality chop of the original? It should be around 50 MB with similar quality. |
Did you check the bitrate of both files?

Yes, I did. I'm installing an app called Compressor right now. Will report back shortly! |

You dont need a compressor, you need to set Final Cut correctly. And i dont need a Mac to know that :P |
Compressor. You're already on the right track.
|
Alternatively you have set your output codec to Apple Prores - which is a pile of dogpoo
