10 typical mistakes of webcam site startups.

Last few years our team is working on development of video chat websites and we have made more than 500 projects for different niche and difficulty. We were able to track progress of each website we made and in this article I would like to give 10 mistakes usually made in this article:

The 2 most important ones imho are:

- Keep your plans realistic
- Be ready for marketing

Nice article. I've seen many people launch a webcam site and fail. Planning and execution is key - bottom line is that you need traffic and the models.

Good list and article. I've noticed that overall spending on individual cam sites seems to have dropped over the past year. Anybody else seeing that trend as well?

Great list. The part about 'get ready for marketing' is very relevant. Why? Too many people still believe in the old 'Build it and they will come' school of web development. Sure, that worked 16-18 years ago... Not anymore, dude.

Thanks for feedback guys! I agree with your comments - most important for business are marketing and realistic plans but I am trying to list typical mistakes. I would write one more article to help better understanding of starting webcam site but there is no stricu rules how it should be done. I would only cover basic requirements.
But creative person with good marketing knowledges could do that! :thumbsup

You are right, I have made this article by myself. I am not native English speaking person and could make mistakes but the same time I want to share my own knowledge of webcam business without another person interpreting it in artistic form.

The thing is - in webcam business each customer is important but only few of them are very important (they pay 100's times more than others). Sure it depends on website, on traffic and person who runs webcam site should be clients oriented and take care of all customers.

We have invested the costs of a 15 person customer and model live support staff, working in round the clock shifts, in our offices in Bucharest. We have 24/7 live support on our site available to all customers and models. Each support staff team member is competent in a few languages.

Yes, resolving support issues promptly and effectively is important in customer and model retention.
  • Having accurate,
  • functionally traditional ( what that customer would be confident in and expect) and;
  • grammatically correct translations,
  • especially on payment pages,
  • is essential to being profitable.
