I say this is bullshit. Show me URLs of those failed solar plants around the world. There are days, when Germany produces all energy needs from solar/wind alone..
"it could destabilize the soil" not just 'could, it will.. :(

Do you really think that they will replace all those trees ? Since you live in Hungary you should know better the difference between saying and doing.

Yes, sadly I do know. But anyway, even here it can't be done that they cut 18k old/bad trees promising to populate new and than not populating anything. I am Sure that there they are populating new trees - elsewhere - for real...
For green people these are hard decades.. Balancing between economical advantages vs saving everything that is green is tough.. Green ppl need to learn to make good deals. I think in this case it is a good deal, in theory. Let's assume they are cutting 18k trees and populate 25k new in 7 years. And building a solar field.. If this all happens its a good deal, even if there's a complete micro-system / wildlife they destroy...

What's to worry? Wildlife don't need homes. As long as it makes a democrat feel good, right?

If you would know what amount of wildlife is affected by using non-renewable energy sources you would shut your mouth. I've been at coal-mines, and exactly know and saw what it does to nature, for example.. Believe me: it is 10000 times better for the Nature/Planet to cut 18k trees and build a solar plant than to produce this energy with fossils....
