Neil DeGrasse Tyson: Christians have no right to call Scientologists crazy

?So, you have people who are certain that a man in a robe transforms a cracker into the literal body of Jesus saying that what goes on in Scientology is crazy? :1orglaugh

Casting aspersions, scorn, ridicule etc. on the beliefs of others really doesn't fall in line with the Christian ideal, so this guy Tyson is 100% correct.

"Small" difference is that Christian stories came up in the dark ages, 2000 years ago... Scientologists managed to come up with their stories in these modern times...

Here's the problem though (and I'm no christian, though know many, whom have varying degrees of what they'd call 'christian values' but I just call human values) - not 100% of christians are like that. Every group, be it atheists, christians, muslims, etc etc *has certain members of the group* that sees 100% of 'the others' as being whatever idea of the others' belief the first group thinks.

A better statement would be 'christians who think scientology is crazy have no right to think that way'. Though really, who gives a fuck what *some* crazy christians think of scientologists? What purpose does that statement serve other than to have another bunch of people who think group xyz is crazy, agree - just the same as when christians do it about scientologists. Forgetting the fact you or I or anyone else agrees, the whole thing disappears up it's own arse because every group has that same subset in regards to viewing the other group(s).

Preaching to the choir is, and always will be, a total waste of time & energy (unless you actually monetize it of course :) ), and tbh, baffles the fuck out of me.

Doesn't really matter when the stories were made up. The Christians still believe them to be true, even thousands of years old.
