Youtube income per view?

I've never messed with youtube and I'm curious if anyone knows the average income per view? I've seen the number .003 per view thrown around but can anyone confirm this?

RummyBoy 04-07-2015 09:33 PM

If you get a million views, you get $3000 USD?

That's actually not as bad as I imagined....

I have a hard time believing that's accurate :2 cents:

I have seen the $3,000 for 1 million views a few different places, but I think it can vary from person to person. If you have higher quality traffic or more traffic you can likely get a better deal.

Might explain the .003 then as the guy whom was claiming to get that, runs a finance related channel. Maybe it works like adsense where they pay better for various keyword related topics.

MrBottomTooth 04-08-2015 07:23 AM

I think it totally depends on the type of video and what ads happen to run on it.

For example, I have one video that did just over 100,000 views and I have made $332 from that video alone.

It is Adsense, but of course on Youtube. The platform for the advertisers is the same as in search aka Adwords. Although as it is display network; the competition is also about positions, not just about keywords.

RummyBoy 04-08-2015 08:14 AM

Youtube.... could not be more orWarholian :1orglaugh

ilnjscb 04-08-2015 08:24 AM

We never got that - never close - but we didn't really try. Problem is, unless you have LOTS of hits you are second tier with them, and they don't monetize even 33% of the hits. Youtube when you're not a channel partner is some of the lowest per pageview revenue I've seen. One video has 87,000+ (very low I know but for demonstrations sake) and less than $100.

Hentaikid 04-08-2015 08:32 AM

I heard that they changed the algo so "time spent on youtube" is more important than hits. So longer videos are better

ilnjscb 04-08-2015 08:41 AM

They track that metric of course but the revenue comes from watching the ads all the way through or clicking them unless you are channel or can negotiate your own campaigns

I get about $2 per thousand. But, they're very tight on what they consider a "View." Traffic I've sent to YouTube pages shows a fraction of the visitors I've sent to similar pages (mainstream and adult, my own and other sites), with various means of validation.

That's understandable, as just sending someone to a page, doesn't mean they watched the video. They aren't paying per view of the page, but rather the video stream.

That's kind of interesting and would help stop a lot of useless spam videos as it would force better content to be made.

Whatever you have in mind, just do it! This is the internet in 2015. People who already agree with you will find you, like you, subscribe to you, donate to you, send you gifts and click your ads. Even if you say you won't cater a gay wedding, they're waiting in the wings for the chance to give you a million dollars.

:thumbsup

Doing it isn't so much the issue, it's more if the time involved is worth the money to be made. The .003 per thousand seemed reasonable, which is why I was trying to confirm that number. The .001 per thousand is a bit less enticing.

Tom_PM 04-08-2015 10:51 AM

I think the most success stories are from people who would do their videos even if there was no money to be made. Something you have a passion for, and maybe are an authority on would be best. People right now are there waiting to find you doing what they enjoy too.

Good luck anyway.

Seems to be a big range in what the lowest vs the highest is.

I looked up a channel I watch sometime. and he has about 25k subscribers. the est earnings are between $266 to 4.6k per month or $3.2k to 51k per year.

That's some major fucking differences per high and low. His channel was ranked as a B.

ZeroHero 04-09-2015 07:45 AM

I think there are different rates depending of the category, demographics and etc. I would like to know more about this 3k per million it's not bad at all :thumbsup

Youtube/ Matacfe/ Dailymotion... Same shit

I have tracked my clip at Metacfe for a month + and when I got close to a significant payout, I got an e mail... " your content is not in compliance with Metacafe policy....." and killed my account....and did not pay me...

But somebody( a pirate with know how) smarter then me used the same clip and guess what.....???

I'm going to pull a partial Yoda... "that is why you (may) fail!"

A very narrow and sharp focus is why those channels win big.

I have a video on Youtube that has over 9 million views. Made a little over 7k

Once you get to a certain point, you can begin negotiating with YouTube directly.

They even have AMAZING facilities throughout the world where you can shoot professional video. Their content creation studios outdo what some TV production companies have to work with.

YouTube is well aware that how we consume content is changing. They're giving their biggest stars the money, tools and creative labor needed to produce videos that are just as good as network TV.

Just like anything else, if you are the top salesman or affiliate they'd be a fool not to give you perks.

Here's one of my channels, nothing special, just some stats though.

Many of the top channels deserve it wholeheartedly.

I know a few channels that have been putting out lots of videos (some middle aged dude who is single, fat, and mildly funny). One guy still puts out videos after 6 years nearly and just got over 40k views.
It's one of those cases where he does all the editing work but like a fool doesn't do anything beyond naming the video with the convention he uses to keep track of them. Doesn't use description text or anything. :helpme

Bless his heart.
