Anyone Here Take Adderall ?

My doctor just prescribed me Adderall for ADHD
Is there any real difference between Adderall and Generic Adderall?
Any feedback would be appreciated :helpme

Not trying to be rude and maybe it's just me.. but ADHD sounds like an "excuse" for tons of small shit that people do or better yet, don't do, because they have a "disorder".

ReggieDurango 04-08-2015 06:40 PM

Adderall is intense shit! Every time I take it I feel like I've done a pound of cocaine! Can't believe they give that shit to kids!

I'll take it if nobody else does. It's rude to pass up free speed.

I have ADD. I can literally be on my way to do something, say turn off the hose, and see something across the yard that has to be picked up, and never make it back to the hose, this can happen many times during the day. It's ridiculous.

I don't take medicine and when I tried adderall it didn't really seem to give me the focus I thought it was supposed to so no sense taking it.

But to the OP, I am sure just like any other meds the only difference will be the price.

Yeah, you could probably resell the brand ones for more than the generics.

Big difference

You need Adderall XR made by Shire US Inc.

XR is for extended release. Night & day between Shire and generic.

If you drink alcohol more then 3 times a week, or binge drink, don't take Adderall.

ADD is the biggest bullshit condition on the planet. ADD = stupid and lazy. Everyone just wants to fit themselves into some condition so they dont need to take reaponsibility for their own actions.

These days everyone and their dog has ADD what a joke.

"Doctor i cant concentrate"
"SURE, take these high powered meds amazing solution!!!"

I don't take meds for it, nor will my doctor give meds for it without you seeing the neurologist and being tested. I don't really want to take medicine.

I definitely bounce around a LOT. It's not a huge issue for me, and actually is to my advantage at work since I do a lot of different things during the day, multitasking as I'm sure most of us do. When it gets me is when I actually have to focus on something for a length of time. Even if it's something I find enjoyable.

It's only ADD if you cannot finish a project. Even if getting it done means you do not get evicted tomorrow.

Anything other just means you're easily bored.

I've noticed that everyone I know "with" ADHD and OCD are only that way with certain things. The ADHD people that I know have no problem spending 8 hours playing XYZ Xbox game. The OCD people I know will have a spotless kitchen but never "remember" to pay their electric bill. Why is that? Is selective ADHD/OCD a scientific thing? If not, really makes you wonder... no?

I have ADHD and if I don't take my medications I can literally be in he middle of a conversation and suddenly get some idea and forget everything about the conversation I was in the middle of to follow my idea.
I can also work on a challenging problem / idea or a conflict and it will be extremely difficult for me to put it down till there is a solution, it's somehing I had to practice and use a lot of self discipline to change.
Before I was aware that I had ADHD I always used to run into problems with people of authority (nothing illegal just pushing people's buttons ), after I learned what I had I'd say I see it more as an advantage rather than a disadvantage or condition.

Yep. I constantly have intrusive thoughts that don't belong in the conversation which brings me completely off track.

Thanks for all the great feedback. Does anyone know how it reacts with Marijuana?

Good luck sleeping on that stuff, you will lose weight though - I used to take it on nights - Great fun...

As far as I know you should be able to get the XR version as a generic.....

MaDalton 04-09-2015 04:01 AM

welcome to addiction - don't come crying here when you can't stop taking it

I just had a look - You should be able to get 'Amphetamine Salts ER' - ER means the same as XR...

Someone told me that if it has a euphoric effect on you, that means you really don't need it. That's most people.

Adderal is basically meth for kids no?

pretty much, but not just for kids... it's just legally prescribed meth*...

*(it's not really meth, it's amphetamine, but close enough)

MakeMeGrrrrowl 04-09-2015 06:13 AM

My friend who takes it for "hardcore" focus and doesn't really need it, can work like 18 hours straight on it. She gets fixated on what she's doing, and doesn't want to stop.

I tried it, and it had nothing at all to be the same effect on me, and I didn't really notice that I could focus better. I think I only tried it for like 3 days though, once it didn't help, no reason to keep taking it. Plus, I really do love my sleep at night.

Medicine is bad, avoid it all if you can. =)

There are many variations. A person can have ADD without the H. A person can be able to hyper focus on some things that engage the brain in a certain way. A person can have executive function issues.

To the OP...yes, there is a difference.

Do you or scientists/doctors have any idea why you can concentrate so narrowly on one thing but not another?

Pretty much. There is a reason Adderal is banned in most countries. It is poison. I have a friend who is on that stuff, and I wont even call him anymore as he will talk for an hour straight about nothing . He will keep circling back on things over and over in the conversation.

Doctors are going to look back at this era in 20-30 years and be like WTF were we thinking. More doctors are responsible for getting patients hooked up opiates than drug dealers.

More addicting than Ritalin from what I here. I had about a 12 month period where I started abusing Ritalin, really nice sexual high if you take several times your dose.

There's no free lunch in nature, I did this at the cost of eating away my gum line. Not as bad as it sounds and it can be restored but it'll cost me $4-5k to get everything back the way it was and a couple years.
