Moniker is down again

Moniker appears down again and no one is responding over there, does anyone have a good contact. Used to be Michael White and he was pretty responsive, but he's no longer with the company and I have no one to reach out to.
Their support doesn't seem to reply and is not available at all on Sundays, don't even have hours of customer support.

If anyone has a good contact, hit me up.
Thanks,

baddog 04-12-2015 09:08 PM

Take the hint and good luck if you do.

Milfer 04-12-2015 09:14 PM

yup down for me as well

Babaganoosh 04-12-2015 10:35 PM

How can anyone still have domains there?

Because they make it so hard to get them moved out.

That sucks. I remember how hard it was to get out when register fly was dying. I had to wait until enom took the domains away before I could get access.

I bought a couple domains that were with them and I immediately tried to move them to my own registrar and could not believe the trouble I had. It isn't like I did not know WTF I was doing, we had done it 100 times.

That was when I knew there was a problem.

BlackCrayon 04-13-2015 04:53 AM

support there is non existent now. the only way to get any support is to call and even then they often just have you on hold and eventually goes to voice mail. move your names and don't look back.

notjoe 04-13-2015 05:08 AM

Moniker is the worst!

While it was a huge pain in the ass I was definitely satisfied when I moved over 1000 domains off their shit. For months and months I tried to get ahold of their customer server and was unsuccessful. It was only when they saw a batch move of hundreds of domains that they reached out to me...

EddyTheDog 04-13-2015 05:46 AM

Why anyone uses anything other than NameCheap is beyond me...

I had one problem with them about 8/9 years ago - The CEO came to GFY and apologized to me in person.....

It wouldn't happen now I am sure, but it showed he has a real respect for even small clients like me...

HowlingWulf 04-13-2015 07:41 AM

NameCheap it is then.

InfoGuy 04-13-2015 08:03 AM

Thank you Moniker for fucking up and screwing all your existing customers. Since there are domainers who are dumb or lazy enough to continue keeping domains at Moniker and they are having problems renewing their domains, I now have the opportunity to pick up some gems when they drop.

HowlingWulf 04-13-2015 09:35 AM

Just heard back from Moniker:

Thank you for contacting Moniker Support.

Unfortunately, at the time of your message our system as under attack and was not
reachable. Services have been restored and we are working to ensure that this will
not happen again in the future.

izombie 04-13-2015 11:44 AM

I been slowly moving my domains from godaddy to namecheap, been totally satisfied so far and much cheaper also.

bns666 04-13-2015 02:17 PM

moniker was ok for me until they changed everything.

new system is really a downgrade.

now moving everything to internet.bs.

CarlosTheGaucho 04-13-2015 02:37 PM

Started with Moniker at 2008 when they were still in the original hands (if I'm not mistaken).

However my contact since their colossal mess up is already at Namesilo.

free WHOIS privacy, easy to use interface, responsive support, not the least of issues so far

sandman! 04-13-2015 02:40 PM

people still use them ? :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

RyuLion 04-13-2015 02:40 PM

That sucks man, move them to godaddy or someone else that has been around for a while..

jrzeygirl 04-14-2015 11:22 AM

I worked for Moniker for 6 years. It makes me sad to hear/read what's happened to them!

Holla if you have any interest in transferring to eNom! I've got some great rates!

PS - NameCheap is a Reseller of eNom :winkwink:

Phone support? Why would anyone need a registrar with phone support?

i've used phone support a number of times with a number of registrars. sometimes its the only way to get real answers. online chat can be just as good sometimes but fuck email support. you have no idea how long you'll have to wait to hear back then. i just think any professional business should have phone support. namecheap doesn't offer phone support because they probably don't speak english well and its cheaper not to i guess.

NameCheap .com is $10.69/yr
eNom .com is $13.95/yr

What am I missing?

Couldn't find anything on domain privacy rates either...

That is standard pricing! I offer lower rates (depending on volume). Email me for details! :thumbsup

If you have moniker account you require it. They change screens and drop needed links, make you create new accounts to do somethings while the old account number still lets you do others for the same domain. Don't get me started.

What kind of questions could you possibly have for your registrar? Aside from registerfly's demise several years back when they disabled changes in their panel, I have never contacted my registrar for anything.

well i am not the average customer, i own a vast amount of names and there have been a number of issues i've ran into. i would say there is rarely a week that passes where i don't have to contact support about something. not always problems but sometimes questions or suggestions. i use about 5 main registrars and there have been some issues with all of them at one time or another.
