Porncms upload issues?

I've been running Porncms from PKS Consulting for several years now and have found it very good. However, the only area it seems to let me down in is video uploads. A very large % of my uploads fail, in spite of trying various settings. Although, I'm told that nobody else has this problem and, indeed, since they use ffmpeg, this should be true. However, I wondered what others were experiencing?

My videos are exported using Premiere thus are encoded my Adobe Media Encoder. I usually use Quicktime .mov or H264 mp4. It's quite possible I'm doing something idiotic that's causing it as everything else is pretty standard. Feedback appreciated.

If uploads fail on a php script, it's usually one of 4 things:
- Max post size in php.ini
- Max upload size in php.ini
- LimitRequestBody in apache
- Some size limitation in script

Or directory permissions. Check your error log.

Thanks. I think it could well be a size issue as the problem is intermittent. I note a smaller video was OK but a bigger one is failing regardless of format. I'll ask what the max file size is

Yep! That seems to be the problem. Concurrently with this post, my PornCMS server was being upgraded so I think that was causing some problems. It didn't help that tech support where my re-direct was hosted cocked things up with the DNS changes.

Anyway, all seems well and Ryan at PKS, who supply PornCMS, has provided great support as usual. Thanks for your advice, guys.

Anyone off the top of their head know how to change it when you upload a video why it's stuck on Video Conversion in Progress...

recently in contact with them, they have a bunch of new features coming up, looking forward to seeing it!

Yeah, I am quite impressed with it so-far. I actually really think it's awesome and support is awesome. I'm just an impatient fool sometimes.

yea these issues were solved, just not on gfy lol.

we moved our hosted sites to a private cloud network. this allows us to deliver more stable results and also serve traffic bursts up to 1m a day on any site. it took a lot of hours to get everything set up and transferred (3 months and more upgrades on-going).

during that development, some things were't working. we built an entirely self-contained transcoding system that matches the functions of the biggest transcoders in the market. that was rapid development at its finest, however some video conversion issues came up during the build. vids are flying thru fast now (hundreds a day).

over the last few months, during the cloud conversion, we were updating site owners directly and also updating the news on our Facebook page. one place we didn't bother to update is gfy. i'm a bit surprised that a site owner would go to gfy to ask questions about the service. that's many degrees of separation from the guy who knows the answer lol

anyways, we're still pushing the outer boundaries of our private cloud. we added 5 new servers last week. we're also adding live streaming right in the cms and many other cool ass features.

its a good time to be with us.

;) thx Ryan

Not as stupid as it might sound. I tried what you suggested and still had issues. Often, asking users brings up other suggestions that might be affect what is happening at your end, e.g something specific to a particular editing prog, local issues, a Homer Simpson type error that would never occur to any right-minded techie...I'm an expert in committing the latter :Oh crap
