Check out any of the spam attracting keywords, like those in the pharmacy field or financial fields, and you will see that a large number of the top ranking sites employ redirects. i.e. the page that is shown to google is completely different from the page that is shown to the visitor.

So, if google really does base ranking heavily on bounce rate, interaction with page and other quality measures, how do these sites continue to rank when google should be able to record that the visitor spends only a fraction of a second on the original page before being bounced somewhere else?

They know how to trick googlebot into thinking their site is the best.

What spam words specifically?

I checked Cialis and pay day loans and those terms had lots of AdWords in the results:upsidedow

After a friend was taken by a scam online when they were looking to get a new birth cert sent to them. I checked the search term they used and saw the site they used was paying for the listing..

After contacting google about it and a few email exchanges they did nothing the ad stayed live, the host killed the site (and others) after 2 day apologizing for the delay in action.

This was not the first or the last time I've contacted google to have action taken about phishing etc sites using paid search listing.. To date google has yet to stop 1 offending ad yet 100% of the sites have been turned off by ICANN, Host etc..

All google gives a shit about is getting paid!
