I have high hopes, but - not a lot of confidence...

How can you have a movie about a fight where one of the combatants can fly, shoot ray beams from his eyes, and snap a man's neck with his pinky vs a guy in a bat suit?

He'll find some kryptonite. Almost as ridiculous as him always fighting arch enemy lex luthor, who was just a bald guy with a lot of money.

That looks pretty interesting. I wasn't thinking it would be, but that trailer hints that the story is gonna be pretty good.
And truthfully...once the Batman costume is on an actor, it can be anybody (for the action scenes) and Affleck proved to me that he is a great actor in "Gone Girl" this past year.

The last Superman movie, "Man of Steel", was fantastic. I saw it twice in IMAX and watched it 2 more times on Blu ray. I Director Zak Snyder is a great filmmaker so I have high hopes for this movie. Ben Affleck is a good actor, but I think I will miss Cristian Bale as Batman.

Batman and Lex Luthor should naturally be a part of this movie. In Man of Steel, they hinted that Batman would make an appearance once, and that Lex Luthor would make an appearance twice. If you missed it, you weren't paying attention. :)

Glad to see Wonder Woman too, though not sure how she fits into this story yet. Maybe her character is more of an intro and she will be in her own movie next.

I think I read that Batman has a "Power Suit" that he uses. I'm guessing technology similar to Iron Man?
That would make sense for Batman to use something like that to go after Superman. Otherwise it would be over in 2 seconds.

She is part of the "Justice League" with Batman and Superman and some others.

Why is it that they have to fight each other? Seems like they both have the same basic agenda.

I seem to recall a comic book from when I was a kid in the 70's that was an out-of-continuity story where the two met and debated. Superman asserted that man was basically good, but sometimes became overwhelmed or "sick" or something and did bad things; Batman argued that man was basically opportunistic and evil, and only fear of consequences kept most people in line. The debate became heated and physical, with the two smashing each other. The movie doesn't seem like a direct adaptation of what I remember, but maybe some of the themes are the same.

(I suppose I could always hunt down the Frank Miller graphic novel, but I'll probably wait for some guy half my age to beg me to take him to see the movie. Then, even if the movie sucks, at least I'll get a blowjob.)

Maybe they were foes in the beginning and they became allies when they need to protect humanity.
.. at the last part there will be credits foreseeing another sequel. Robin drinking a beer at a bar maybe, and said "i shall soon fuck you both".

this always makes me chuckle a bit when it comes to superhero movies. When i watched the dark knight rises, there was a moment when catwoman, batman and another guy (cant remember) were casually talking in the street. I thought for a moment, wait, these people play dress up, standing in the street with their silly costumes. With the serious tone of the movie it doesn't work, I can't take that shit seriously.

Now when i look at the poster for this batman v superman, it's even more ridiculous. The only 'superhero' where this approach works is the punisher, because only he can exist in the 'real world' without looking gay.

btw how the fuck do these movies get such high imdb ratings... the dark knight for example has a 9.0... wtf!

There was a storyline back in the 70's with the Batman-Superman comics series where Superman for some reason lost all his powers. He couldn't deal with not being a crime fighter any longer so he reinvented his identity with a new suit chock full of gadgets (like Batman has) and called himself "Nova" or "The Nova". He went up against some crooks and of course got himself into trouble, and eventually the Bat had to bail him out before he got himself killed.

As I recall the two fought some in that plot.

Anyone else remember that?

Why is every Batman movie converting Chicago in its Gotham city?

When will we see a Batman in Vienna or a Superman in München. I am very tired of watching cities of the USA with bad public transportation and awful pretentious distribution of the population in the movies.

Frank Miller wrote two stories, in one duel with Superman and Batman ended in sort of tie (Bruce faked death by heart attack) and in second, he went underground teach youngsters to fight government and gov's ass licker - Superman. When they were ready they come out and beat the shit out of Superman, literally.

awesome story, one of the very best Batman stories along with Killing Joke though totally different.
