How a 9-Year-Old Girl Makes $127K a Month on YouTube
Thought some of you might find this interesting:
"Nine-year-old Charli is the namesake of Charli?s Crafty Kitchen, a YouTube channel where she gives kid-friendly baking tips with the help of her 6-year-old sister, Ashlee, who doubles as the channel?s chief taste tester." " According to estimates compiled by Outrigger Media and posted on AdAge this week, Charli?s Crafty Kitchen is the number one YouTube channel in the ?food and cooking? category, earning an estimated $127,777.21 a month in ad revenue ? and that?s after YouTube takes its cut." https://www.yahoo.com/parenting/how-...655135577.html . |
Jesus w.t.f. Christ... 127K a month...
I'm opening a YouTube channel.... buy me a Spill free teat, a pair of diapers and a bib and i'm going to shoot me baking chocolate cookies for teenage girls with heartache... Who wants to buy a paysite? |
Wow good for her. I hope the parents are investing the money wisely for her.
|
Damn,I'm in the wrong line of work..good for her
|
Awesome and very good for her. If her parents play her cards right, this girl will be set for life by the time she gets out of jr high school.
|
I notice a ton of stories about kids making money on youtube. Just my theory, But I think kids are the biggest youtube fans and they like to see other kids opening toys and putting on dramas.
I am kind of bothered that I have put up a sexy youtube video of sexy girls, that I have marked as adult, and I see kids making comments. I think it is them trying to get views on their own videos. Youtube/Google have turned everyone into spammers. |
Wow nice, at least she enjoys what she's doing without even realizing she is earning.
|
Food/Recipe/Cooking has high cpc rate, and they have alot of suscribers, I bet those motivation videos which get 10,000,000 dont even make half of those income. It depends on the markets.

my oldest son likes to watch video games being played online

This is nothing new at all. Two boys have a channel where they review toys, and they make money off of it too.
Shit, kids were making money off of Myspace back in the day too. |

That's insane!
Good for them, I say. Those kids will be set for life. |

Good for her, she deserves it.
|
Impressive figures for sure.
|
If you check out their YouTube channel there are a lot of very slick Fortune 500 pre-roll ads.
|
She should have Lenny Dykstra invest it for her

Mad skillzzzzzzz

Amazing and good for her.

I really doubt that she makes that much, I think we would have heard about this a long time ago and have a lot more people trying to do the same thing.
From another article "Roughly, a video creator will earn $2,000 for every million views. "And then YouTube takes 45 percent," the Times notes. (The IRS will take its cut of the remainder, too.)" Read more: How Much Money YouTube Stars Actually Make - Business Insider |
They've only got 330000 subscribers. Most videos aren't cracking 200,000 views. $127000 a month seems like a very high estimate. I know there's guys with over 2 million subscribers that arent making that much.
I see they did have some videos that had a couple million views so who knows. |
theres lies, theres damn lies, & then theres stories about how much people make on youtube.
:2 cents: |
|
Appalling, especially when you look at the videos.
|
It seems they have a great following but I have a hard time believing they take in $100k per month.
Media stories likely don't care to check the real figures because saying that a nine year old girl making $100k attracts attention and so they'll get people reading the articles and hopefully making it go viral. The link that candidpro posted above has more realistic expectations of YT income in my opinion. |

Remember the investment club kid in New York that told the news he made millions?, When he actually made nothing. |

Damn, I'd better start cooking. :helpme

All you have to do is put your passion into something you are actually interested in and have some authority on. If, on the other hand you approach YT as "traffic" you might as well fail quickly and get it over with. It's real.

Give cred where it's due brother. :2 cents: |
I wonder how her guardians "keep" her cash for her
|
Hate to think about the audience Demographics.
|
That's incredible! The younger generation is more advanced than we :)
|
If that is true, I guess they don't ask for pocket money from their parent :1orglaugh
|
I would like to know how much the Russian twerking school girls made from Youtube ??:helpme
|
Unreal. Having one of those "Why didn't I think of that?" moments.
|
I told a friend of mine to have his girl do this about 5 years ago.
I have to send this to the douche bag. What an idiot for not doing it. |
Jesusssss! thats a lot of money they need to share with me lol
|
Wow, talk about impressive!
Bet their parents are proud as hell.....hopefully they are doing the right thing with the cash flow and the kids have a hefty trust fund for when they're old enough to use. |

My wife and I have often said it's a shame we didn't have the foresight back in the day to video record every aspect of our business - the prop building, the studio facilities, all the rigging we had to do...including much of the marketing/promo aspects. Probably would have made an excellent Youtube tutorial for up-and-cummers...especially people interested on how to get it off the ground on a shoestring budget.
Others could have learned from our mistakes - while at the same time getting some insight and innovative ideas, too. |
