hey, so portable speakers, any worth a fuck?
with bluetooth and 3.5 jack
|
Love my portable bluetooth speakers - great on the beach.
Try the Bluetune Bean. Waterproof. Amazon.com: Divoom Bluetune Bean bluetooth Speaker for Smartphones - Retail Packaging - Black: Cell Phones & Accessories Decent sound and you can clip em to your bike or anywhere else. |
I have the JamBox and I have given them out as gifts. Really nice. Love it.
I also just got the Amazon Echo, going to do some comparisons between that and the JamBox. Last week I was at the Bose display store and they had some real neat ones as well. |
I have a Bose Soundlink. Mine is a second gen model and they're up to third gen now. Never been a "Bose guy" before really, but I've been happy with the sound and the battery lasts a good long time on a single recharge. The leather case it's wrapped in is clean looking and functional. All in all I like it a lot.
I have to admit that I didn't test drive a whole lot of other options, especially the cheapter $100 range ones so I don't really have much to compare it to. |
I want to buy levitating one from dx, cheap maybe 30$
|
i have this. good for listening to on the beach or by the campfire.

I picked up one of those 20 or 30 dollar ihome single speaker ones, you can link them together. One by itself sounds surprisingly good for the price.

nice, i'm going through these, the bose doesn't seem to have the 3.5mm jack
big price variations! $20 -> $300, where's the sweet spot? would like 10+watts. |
This Martin Logan is the shit, sound quality is unbelievable
Amazon.com: MartinLogan Crescendo Wireless Speaker System (Walnut): Electronics I put Martin Logans in my theater and never looked back. I now have them in my living room, bedroom and replaced my Bose wireless with theirs. Of course, the Bose was really impressive as well. I'd say fork for the higher end of whatever brand you're looking at, you'll have the speaker for so long it will be worth it. |
I have an iLoud. 3,5mm jack, good range on the bluetooth and awesome sound quality including bass from such a small unit.
|
|
i'm nervous to click the linkie for the martin logan's...........salivating already. :1orglaugh
|
I might add that an iLoud has much bettr sound than a Bose Soundlink III

Check out the parts-express.com tech talk section towards the right-hand side of the menu bar. Its a forum so I don't wanna get bitch-slapped linking to it. I've found a few decent home made Bluetooth builds that would rival most big box store giant boombox systems and run off cheap rechargeable banks. All parts avail from their store. Users usually provide wiring examples, diagrams, cutout dimensions etc. Prolly 100-150 once done and make the beats pill box style speaker systems wet their panties in fear. |

Looked at a few but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Did pick these up for desktop though and happy. Shit says wireless but that's just their way of saying bluetooth as it has wires connecting everything.

It's a little on the large side but i think you'll like. |
no need to pay lots of $$$, just find some geek to made it for you, i do that, and the prize is lower, it's my design and voltage
|
UE Boom is awesome. Bluetooth and 3.5 jack. Really long battery life. Some reviews complain of no bass but if you place it on a solid surface - like floor or patio - it really kicks up the bass. And you can get two and pair them together for stereo sound.

I have had several portable speakers and hands down the best one I've used is Klipsch KMC-1. It's a little heavy but the sound it creates and the longevity of the battery life is worth it. For an all around portable speaker, you really can't go wrong with this one.
Here's a review. |
I bought one a few years ago - Awesome. Holds a charge for ever and a day, nice and tiny, yet nice and loud. I can use it anywhere.

And it seems odd to get an expensive item (iPhone) for free when purchasing a less expensive item like the UE Boom. Good deal though. . |
