I had an account with HSBC UK - No problems, I remember the manager having a chat with me - He was happy as long as I was doing nothing illegal - However, that was probably 10 years ago...

You've been getting them.

Hong Kong banking regulator beefs up anti-money laundering push | Reuters

If you do not mind your bank being more shady than Adult business by all means...I am sure they do not care what you do.

I dont care. I am not laundering or doing anything illegal, that is all I care.

They do not like adult in Hong Kong. As a matter of fact they don't like any risky businesses at all. They are mostly interested in investment accounts and not real businesses . Make sure not to receive from explicit names. CCbill and others are fine as long as you give them a good cover, i.e. produce a non adult page processing with CCbill. In most cases they will require a monthly minimum balance of 50k to 200k US$ to keep your account open.

Shady banks need scapegoats from time to time.

HSBC are based in the UK BTW, not sure if we are getting confused by the 'Hong Kong' bit - For now anyway...

I would look at other banks. HSBC have been in trouble for awhile. Ask any Asian person. ML is a business in China for thousands of years.
To me it would be like opening an account at Germany's Commerz (sp?) bank.
