I like Lewis Black - he's pretty funny on The Daily Show. I saw him in concert a few years ago here in Montreal and he was hilarious.

You cleared the thing that was already clear to me :)

My point was that saying such phrases is NOT strange:
His lineage (THEY) are morons, that family (THEY) are morons, this bunch of people (THEY) are morons, etc etc.

All those phrases sound absolutely natural, and no second guessing about using "is" instead of "are". You use "are" because you say THEY (his lineage) ARE.

Is that a knock against Jews, his lineage? LOL

The ONLY interesting thing about this guy is how he didn't start in show business until a very late age. But I always thought he had some kind of disease cause he kinda shakes a little when he goes on a rant, like DeNiro in that movie about shaky people.

(Still sad Robin Williams is gone! Yet this guy Black lives on? Taint right.)

Clearly his brand of sarcastic humor is not for everyone but I find him very entertaining.
