The new Dropbox commenting feature = Slow death of tubes

So you have a centralized dropbox full of stolen videos and now people can chat back and forth about each video.

People communicating about vids, no advertising, and next dropbox will add file ratings where users can rate the files :thumbsup

Feasible or not?

A lot of people still do not trust dropbox for whatever reason. I think it had something to do with them hiring Condeleeza Rice.

Not.

With a $10B valuation, Dropbox won't risk pulling a MegaUpload on their legitimate users (many of whom are paying users) by allowing this to go on for too long.

If this were ever to go mainstream by getting enough traction/traffic, Dropbox would come up with a solution soon thereafter.

Paying users want more functionality. Dropbox is showing us that they are evolving to provide more connectivity between users as part of increased functionality. :thumbsup

How else is Dropbox going to offer something more than Google Drive, Amazon, etc? Isn't increase user functionality the only way to go?

I don't user DropBox either so I don't have any example URL's sorry :(

Something interesting though. I was reading through their documentation and when you goto comment, if you type @ then someones email address, they will be emailed by dropbox and told they were mentioned in the file

Sounds like a good marketing opportunity, yes? :thumbsup
