Google adwords

some stupid situation with google.
i wanted to promote my youtube channel with non nude video. So my hubby made a clip of me walking around in tight yoga pants, made another special edit of the clip where are no close ups and singed that video to adwords promote. it asked me to pay the money first. send them 50$ and ... they denined my video saying it is adult content. ok but they already charged taxes to 50$ and i read the forums and guys say no one got the money back from google in russia yet. isn't it pitty from such a huge company to do the things like this? why they ask money before your ask been reviewed? why do they charge taxes to not spent money?

sorry guys im just so disappointed with that.

Mark-G 05-03-2015 09:09 AM

Google is very anti-adult these days - I cannot get them approve any ads with ladies in bikini's or just giving "sexy smiles" or winking (no nudes).

When you try to explain to them your side of the story - you will hit a "robot rep" and he/she will be keep saying that "they have changed their ToS" and no longer accept ANYTHING even remotely "sexy" (forget about nude or hardcore).

I guess we need to look for other marketing channels - Google and Adult is no go for while now.... It's official!

They approved me a campaign for a cam site last week after I tried many ways to start a campaign they finally approved me one , but yes is very difficult if you have adult related content !

To pay money first? Usually it is taken from credit card or with debit card directly from bank account. With the OPTION to pay beforehand. No beforehand payments required. Though I haven't managed Russian Adwords accounts, so maybe it is different in there.

Bladewire 05-03-2015 11:52 AM

Sorry to hear that. Try again and they'll approve you, just be persistent

They can disapprove it just because of the landing page; then it doesn't matter what magic tricks you will do with the ad.

Bladewire 05-03-2015 12:13 PM

There are more subtle ways to promote adult other then going directly to a tier 1 site, that's an amateur move. They need to be persistent and see how other adult sites are successfully promoting via mainstream.

Your welcome

But if you do this with Adwords your cost per conversion gets very high. This is like having mainstream site which monetizes traffic by sending it to some adult site, that might again send visitors to actual converting site. But with Adwords, as you pay for it, and often not that little, even that one extra stepping stone makes huge difference in what you pay per conversion.

Bladewire 05-03-2015 12:31 PM

Aka123 I like you, but I'm not here to educate you. I'll pay you to work for me and you can learn that way, but GFY isn't adult webmaster school.

You can argue against the knowledge that I provide but you're just misleading people who don't know any better.

It's almost like GFY had become the anti porn success destination lol

Actually I work in mainstream (so far), but you could at least tell what is wrong in what I said. It wouldn't have required any more space. The longer the funnel is, the more drops out, and the more is the cost per conversion. Though it might still be profitable, but why do it with Adwords, when you can have cheaper traffic from elsewhere?

But if you were serious about some job opportunities, please tell more (with PM for example). I am Adwords and Analytics certified if that matters.

GFY is totally webmaster school, at least in part. Why answer a question, if not to educate? Why ask, if not to learn?

I've learned tons of things on this site and I've shared my own knowledge.

You're right. Honestly I'm on my phone pecking away my posts and it's exhausting. I've been using my voice to text but I'm spending more time fixing it's errors then I would just pecking them out letter by letter, like this one lol I'm almost home. It's nice when your kid is old enough to drive you around :)

I've had a profitable adult pay site for 15 years now. Since then I've branched out and created more paysites, with another one in the works.

Some people over the years have become very good with Adwords and can target traffic extremely well. For those people Adwords is a form of cheap targeted converting traffic.

There will always be someone between you and your online prospects, whether it be Google, an ISP, Social Media, etc. Google, ISP's, Social Media (for the most part) have all made it clear they don't want outright adult in peoples faces.

Spammers have totally destroyed it for legitimate business people in adult, well not destroyed it, but made it very difficult for us to be seen nowadays. A lot of spammers have no idea they've been relegated to virtual black holes on social media sites where they're not actually communicating with the masses. Some ISP's, and countries, block adult sites. The people in power have been dividing, and conquering, the internet for a while now, cutting it into little platforms with their own anti adult policies. The list goes on. To be very successful you need to come in clean, and stay clean.

It's best to have a property or two that's PG and serves the interest of your niche. Adwords will accept your site for advertising. You lose a lot less traffic filtering through that way. I know a couple people that do this, and it works very well for them.

Again, this is not for gaming the Adwords system in any way, or spamming, it's giving them what they want, on their terms, to get what you want. They want ads to be useful, varied, relevant and safe. They want sites not created primarily for traffic generation or gateway sites, so give it to them while serving the interest of your niche. If you aren't, or haven't been, interested enough in your niche to create something of value for them outside of porn then don't use adwords.

Successful long term mainstream promotion for adult means you are subtle, don't link (most of the time, on most platforms), and a list of other things. I call it passive promotion. I'm sure there's some other name for it but that's what I call it.

Okay, thanks. There has been no use for me to use some sites as a "middle man" as I work in mainstream. But that is very interesting idea to use customer segmentation that way in adult. Other advertising has used it long time, but I haven't thought that much using it in adult.

its weird but there was no credit card option! there were only online wallets like webmoney.
And yes they asked to pay first before review been proceed.
we choosed we were "individual person" not the company.

JenySmith 05-03-2015 03:52 PM

we've tried like 4 versions of the video. last time we removed the link on the video and left only my alias.
will try one more time now. We will delete every scene they could think is explicit or focusing on sex. TThe idea is to bring subscribers to my channel where are explicit versions of the video (still non nude but focusing on close ups and see throughs)

Though I agree with you to an extent but the fact of the matter is that Google is giving a lot of BS lately. I have sites where adsense has been disabled just because the girl looked hot or was wearing a bikini in perhaps 1 image in the whole site (not nude or see through even or even a sexy bikini.. just lame normal bikinis). They have given me the BS about not following their TOS etc.

But when I check their ads which they are running here in India (I am from India) then I see nearly lingerie, bikini, gambling and other such ads in nearly 40-50% of all image ads. Even in Youtube India, the thumbnails they place on the homepage contain a lot of suggestive ones with even old videos of scandals, suggestive scenes from movies, bathing thumbnails etc. India is somewhat of a conservative country but the youtube thumbnails and ads they run here are all targeted at adult audiences.

You can check for yourself by going to any site using some Indian proxy. Or just change the country to India at the bottom of Youtube screen from a fresh (cache cookies deleted) browser to check their hypocrisy.

Google has been running one set of rules for webmasters and a different set for themselves from what I have seen. :1orglaugh

ok what are you thoughts what i have to change?

Well you probably aren't Jeny, you're probably a marketer for the network she's part of, or the person running it?

If you are, or aren't, jeny, either way, you've been tagged with your current identity and they know what you're trying to do. You have to go in clean, and stay clean. This isn't the old internet anymore where blatant techniques work. If you do anything that acts spammy, you'll be categorized.

Again, go in clean, and stay clean. Viewers will be hyper aroused by the content, they will type in something they see that clues them in to seeing more of what they want. Good luck :thumbsup

EDIT: By go in clean, and stay clean, I really mean it. I don't mean go in clean, act good for a while, then get dirty.

You're welcome. Now think of this, you, or somebody, can make a business of creating, or acquiring, small mainstream sites with good reps that will subtly promote adult :thumbsup

That invidual person thing probably affects to these options. As the rules for collecting/ paying VAT, etc. are different whether you are dealing with companies or inviduals.

If you do this for business (as you seem to) and you have a company, I suggest you use Adwords as a company.

No, i'm Jeny. I don't know that guy you gave the link two. He is my subscriber and probably came from my twitter advertisement or found me by tags he is into.

Yesterday we made 5th edit of the clip and finally they approved it.
We deleted every close up and spread legs scene and put in description something like "hi, im Jeny , Im looking for new friends"

i Hope it will bring subscribers i will tease with non nude-a bit see through videos.

Thank you for your use full answers!

I thought choosing individual person would bring me no taxes easy credit card payment. but it seems to give everything up side down

has anyone tried promoting a dating site instead while this dating site has your ad?
