How do Affiliates work?
Tasked with increasing traffic to my client's paysite, I've been trying to read up on Affiliate Programs. To be honest I'm still pretty confused on how the whole thing works. How does the affiliate get the content, do we need to setup galleries for the content to be taken from?
Could any one give me a brief explanation/ tutorial on Affiliates? Or point me in the right direction? Help a poor newb out! :1orglaugh We are using Elevated X and CCBill if that's relevant. |
Do affiliates even work these days? I remember the days of jacking off to everyone's TGP on several top sites. That seemed to work.
Now I think you need sensationalism or something to capture the attention span of young adult millennials (target spending audience) Fake a models death and maybe TMZ will blog with a backlink. Lots of traffic there. Get real hip with the trolls at Reddit and toss links there. Just be careful because they confuse branding and content management with spamming and will "Shadowban = Ghost" your account and stop your traffic. (Yes I'm bitter about that.) Be your own affiliate. Look into Sliiing (Don't follow my advice and expect results....but if you do, I want the test numbers so I can put them in my future affiliate marketing E-book lol) |
Thanks Kyle! :thumbsup
Murphy34, just have a look at my website and you will find many information. Hit me up and I will help you out. Cheers! |
First of all you need an affiliate program set up.
CCBill offers one or you can lease NATS. We have our own back end and also use NATS. Then you need content to distribute for/as creatives (ads) and various content generation backend scripts like CSV, XML etc. I don't think serious affiliates are pasting banners and link codes anymore but rather generating sponsor content and links dynamically with tube scripts, WordPress or their own custom coding. Maybe signup to some of your competition's (niche - type of content) affiliate programs and look what they have -- that would probably be expected of you. Affiliate are paid CPS REVS (commission per sale, reoccurring revshare ), PPS (one time pay per sale)and/or CPA (cost per action -- signups completed by referrals then based on some geolocation or payment verification criteria). |
I'm tightening up the CCBill affiliate program now, making sure things are setup properly. I read AJ Hall's article 'Paysite Power: Questioning the Affiliate Model' on XBIZ about utilizing social networking, etc. I have been thinking about the Reddit angle, Tumblr, Twitter and Facebook are in the works.
Thanks guys!:thumbsup |
