I don't see what the "Lie" is? The bottom line is Govt. is corrupt and DO want us to be exactly what George Carlin is saying.

Who do you think he's talking about? The Government which does what their financial cronies interest tell them to do.

The "uninformed" are the ones who just read the news and media (which he talks about as well in that clip) and take as gospel the Govt. press releases which are "reported" as fact without any investigative journalism at all.

Our govt. buys and sells itself every day. I've said it over and over...I can't blame a company for trying to buy influence. I blame the bureaucrats in POWER who create the environment where only the govt. can decide the "winners" and "losers" in every industry.
Which of course sets THEM up to reap the rewards from companies trying to get ahead of the competition.

Bottom line is...YES, The govt. does NOT want well informed citizens.
If they did, they would simply INFORM us.
Instead they secretly spy on us, cause wars all over the globe, funnel money to defense contractors like it's nothing as they deficit spend us into oblivion.

If you look at the government for what it really is, a corporation, rather than what you are led to believe it to be, then technically they didn't "misquote."

Its meant to turn people against Govt and favor big business (privatization), the reality is govt is controlled by big business.

I guess all you quote something that was said 1000s of times by a guy over a decades long career... then as the "other team" you simply find one of those times when he expressed the sentiment differently, and use that clip to announce the big "lie" of that team.

I was a George Carlin fan since I saw his first special way back over 30 years ago on HBO.

About 3 years ago they did an entire weekend of George Carlin on one of the comedy channels on Sirius Radio. I was driving to Reno and back and listened to hours of it. His comedy, interviews with him, interviews with his wife and kids, his best friends, his manger, etc.

And from everything I have learned of George Carlin...he was a TRUE liberal. And absolutely did NOT trust the govt.
You know, the way a real liberal should.

It was LIBERALS who protested the Vietnam War and said "don't trust the govt."

And I am in agreement with those REAL liberals. Not the fake ones of today who play "team sports" and think the Democrat Party are their "team".

Nope, they protested Democrat Lyndon Johnson right out of running for another term.
