if you go to the wiki page that those stats came from, you'll see that the facts are skewed. dated from 2010, many countries are not listed or didn't submit data for that year (the list is comprised of countries that did) so many African countries that should be on that list don't appear, also it doesn't take into account the different definitions of rape for each country - for example Sweden appears so high as just about any sexual assault is classified as rape, they also log each incident as separate so if someone was repeatedly abused by another person, each incident is reported as a new rape whereas some other countries would class it as one crime or as a lesser crime than rape.

Ha, you and I have been working on different segments of the same project I see. I've been thinking of starting this exact thread, as I've been wondering the same thing myself for the past few weeks.
