Former House Speaker Dennis Hastert has been indicted on federal charges for trying to hide close to $1 million in bank withdrawals and lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.


Someone was extorting him to the tune of 3.5 million dollars for crimes he committed as Speaker of the House. Seems he's been paying this 'un-named" person bribes to keep his mouth shut for several years.

He was indited for trying to hide the withdraws from the IRS and lying about it to federal investigators. This should be interesting when it blows up and we find out why he was paying the blackmail.

...and guess what party he's affiliated with.

Good they should go after a lot more of the politicians. Most of them are as dirty as hell.

He didn't start paying till 2010 which is after he was speaker. I'd think if it were something old like that, they would of blackmailed him at the height of his power.

This seems like something done while he was in politics. My guess is either Gay or some sort of big time corruption.

The person who blackmailed him was someone who has known him for pretty much his or her entire life and was blackmailing him for an incident that happened many years ago.

On CNN last night they mentioned he was a wrestling coach, and that the other person involved in this case is someone he knew "most of his life" and was from the town he was a coach in.

Is it possible he molested a kid?

He had "sexual relations" with a teen boy whom was a student at the high school he was coach at. Why don't they just call him what it was child molesting and quit pussy footing around.


He will never serve any time for that crime as it happened 30 years ago, so the stature of limitations have long since gone by. In fact it's more likely the victim will serve time for extortion.

He's a very powerful, well connected man. There have been no accusations set foward by anyone (no doubt there will be now thankfully) but until then any news organization that labels him a pedo or molester will be liable :2 cents:

Also, I read in an article that age of consent in Illinois is 17, if his victim was 17 it could be a grey area. They said there were so many rumors in his town of multiple offenses by him back in the day that that's the reason he never got elected in his own district. I dunno. Creepy as fuck and so typical.

He's been accused more than once. Hiding gayness seems to be very bad for a person's psyche, but very good for becoming a republican leader. Self-hating gays I guess; they're the only ones who have the energy to hate gays irrationally like they do.

Strange way of thinking. I don't fit well in the Gay or straight community being a Gay single father pornograper. As us pornographers know, it's hard being out about what we are, and it has its drawbacks in many aspects of our lives. But at least we are true to who we!

As I'm a straight man, you might say say I have no right to comment, but I have so many true friends who are gay, and I have acquaintances who imagine that they're closeted. Not a justification, just context.

Hard or not - push the envelope, seize the day. Do something to make yourself more free every day. Above all do NOT enable those who are telling you you're inherently "bad" regardless of what is offered.

I know it must be difficult sometimes for you with a child. Much respect (as if anonymous internet respect on an adult webmaster board mattered :-) ... ) for doing what you need to do to be a good parent.

From what I've seen though, many of the most aggressive anti-gay folks are struggling with their own sexuality. I'm not alone in that observation.
