Has this ever happened to you?

So on Tuesday I went to the bank machine to take out $240 via my Paxum card. I could hear the machine trying to give me the money. Then all of a sudden the bank machine went out of order. It said the transaction was cancelled. However, I checked my paxum account and the money was withdrawn!

I called TD bank and they said I had to contact Paxum first. Chris and Paxum have been very helpful so far. However, I don't like the fact I have to pay $40 in order for them to investigate the matter.

Same thing happened to us with a TD machine. The bank said it was an an outside contractor running them. The money was returned to us, the account, in a couple of days:2 cents:

You have to pay 40$ even it's the Paxum's fault?

It's not paxums fault it is TD banks fault. However, I have to pay $40 for paxum to start the chargeback process with the bank. As far as I am concerned TD should be paying the $40.

LMAO,

No... my paxum card is about to expire and I was pulling out what I had left in the card. Because once the money has been transferred to the card you can't transfer back to your checking account.

Think they just "reserved it" as part of the process of collecting the Money from a debitcard. It usually gets returned after a few days(think the general rule is max 10 workdays)

I've never had this happen.

Once years ago I deposited a check into an ATM and a few days later everything started bouncing. This was back in the day when I was a kid and flat broke. Turns out the check never made it.

A year later the bank called me into the branch and told me they replaced the ATM and found the check at the bottom of the machine. Go figure.

michael.kickass 05-29-2015 09:18 AM

Fortunately it never happened to me. :\

Never had it happen with a card like that but have with my debit card. Lucky for me the institution I have gives me the money right away upon complaint. Then they investigate it for FREE to get the money back from the ATM/Bank.

BlackCrayon 05-29-2015 10:04 AM

my buddy had his card eaten by an atm once. luckily the bank was open so they just opened it up and got it back.

Unfortunately only the issuing bank (TD Bank) can fix the situation, and in order to do so, a chargeback must be filed. Choice bank (our card issuer) charges $40 for all chargeback requests, it is not a Paxum fee.

Payoneer has received 100s of millions of dollars in venture capital money, which has provided them with the ability to swallow such fees, whereas Paxum has never solicited for venture capital money.

Once the chargeback fee has been accepted by the client, then we can proceed with the chargeback procedure and typically, in situations like this regarding funds lost at the ATM, the funds are returned.

2 Weeks ago, the exact same things happened to me when travelling in Argentina.
I'm so pissed off. It's not Paxum's fault, it's their partner bank who is asking for 40 bucks ... but I feel really bad about it. Like, if it happens again, at each bank error I will have to pay 40USD for nothing, it's sad.

My card is also about to expire etc... the exactly same scheme that you've had. Chargeback is in process right now.
