In America, there is a joke that the French are cowards

No truth to the rumour.

Both Canada and the U.S. respect the French national flag and their courage.

Ridiculous joke that gets old. Nicely summed that it does not exist outside of the US.

As a Canadian - I have family that died on the beaches in Normandy...that would point out the error of your thinking.

We're talkin' in generalities, of course. There were brave and courageous frenchmen. But in general...they were renown for lacking in testicular fortitude.

Why did the French plant so many trees in Paris?

Germans like marching in the shade.

And how they were renown for that? Because of some decisions one or few highest ranking officials made in a war?

Truth and the devil are in the details. Many Americans roll over and take it like "Rupert" did from "New Brian."

I don't believe the French are cowards, after WW 1 the liberal inteligiencia along with the leftist media pushed the agenda that nationalism was wrong even to the point of rewriting schoolbooks to highlight the misery of the German soldiers during the war, to feel pity for the aggressors and sorry for their injury's etc...

and the media and Intelligentsia were very successful with this program, totally killing the will of a French generation to defend their country while in Germany a country being destroyed by war reparations the complete opposite agenda was being pushed....

just like the liberal and leftist media is working overtime to destroy the American sense of nationalism, pushing not defend the boarders and attacking American culture.... even to the point of tying to dissolve the separation between men and woman....

think of it like this: while the American media sucks of to sexual deviants and lowlife thugs our enemies are working 16 hours a day trying to figure out how to tears us apart.

unfortunately there are no countries that will step in and help us like America did with France :2 cents:

200 000 military deaths and another 350 000 civilian deaths. sounds pretty significant to me.

As far as the U.S goes....... The media and the powers that be have hoodwinked the majority.
When the corrupt bastards running the country finally get what's coming to them. (Politics and otherwise) It's gonna be brutal. Unfortunately the Police will do what they are told and the military will do what they are told. They will kill many citizens to protect the masters that pay them. They will be violating the constitution of course as they do on a daily basis around here.
I know I sound crazy, but I think the oppression can't last forever.
