Report: Las Vegas street gangs increasing
The Las Vegas Valley has more than 300 gangs and 20,000 gang members, the Las Vegas Sun reported.
Local gang members average from 14 to 21 years old, with recruitment typically starting in middle school, Metro Police said. Many of the city?s more established gangs are subsets of larger, California-based organizations. But there also are ?hybrid gangs,? more loosely organized groups that are harder for police to contain. Hybrid gangs, which are barely organized and more violent, make it harder for police to contain them. The Metro Police have seen a large increase in gang activity, during the past decade, according to the Las Vegas Sun. Known gangs in Las Vegas include, Bloods and Crips, the Rolling 60s, The Playboy Bloods, The West Side Piru Bloods and The Norteņos. Report: Las Vegas street gangs increasing | Las Vegas Sun Times |

Because California has the 3 strike law, all of the 2 strike criminals are moving and setting up shot in Las Vegas. Until Nevada has a 3 strike law, it will only get worse.

Brassmonkey's brothers from crips are respectably mentioned :thumbsup

I live in Vegas. I go all over the place here. In the daytime and at night. I go to all black & all hispanic clubs as well.
So far I have never seen any "gang-related" violence. I know that the gangs are here. But I watch the local news every night. Murders and robberies are reported here...but I can't even remember ever seeing any gang stuff reported. Having said all of that...IF the mafia still ran this town, there wouldn't be ANY gang bullshit happening here. |
all sheeple are members of a gang one way or another

If the news posted 1/10 of the shit that happens in Vegas no one would ever visit the city. Put it you this way I would prob ride a bicycle through east LA wearing a red or blue shirt before I would ride through some parts near Boulder Highway lol |

Hell I take Claudia Marie with me to Boulder to party. And we usually stop at "Jacks Liquor Store" on Boulder at night time to grab some booze. It looks "scary" I guess. But the people are as nice as can be (including the ones who look like they might be "dangerous"). And like I was saying earlier...the local news is quick to report everything that happens here. If somebody stubs their toe it seems to be "breaking news" lol And every once in a while you hear about trouble over on Boulder on the local news...but not very often at all. I was just there staying at Boulder Station Casino this last Saturday and partying at different places up and down Boulder (Arizona Charlies, EastSide Cannery, Sam's Town, and a half mile off of Boulder...the world famous Red Rooster). Nothing but good times. Not saying that nothing EVER happens. But I feel very comfortable partying on and around Boulder. So far I haven't found anywhere in Vegas that I felt uncomfortable at. I enjoy looking for the off-the-beaten-path areas of Vegas because they are more fun and inexpensive than the outrageous prices & nothing but EDM shit on the strip. As a local, I'm just saying that some of this is exaggerated. Just like Fremont St. used to be the place for all the crack dealers and such...now it's like freakin' DisneyLand. lol |
Duno about gangs, but Vegas police is a real brutal one. Saw them "in action" a couple of times :2 cents:

You'd think that with all this shit getting caught on video and posted on YouTube and getting them in trouble that they'd chill out. But nope...they just keep on doing stupid shit! :( |
i've been walking at night alone around El Cortez and from there to Fremont Street - no issues
(but I admit - i looked over my shoulder a few times ;) ) |

yea that isnt even bad. Keep walking and go into the area "Naked City". Almost every public park in that area has been closed down by the sheriff so homeless people have a place to sleep at night. My friend works for the city told me tweakers eat birds and rodents and shit. |

By the way, KaraokeXXX used to take place at the Red Label Lounge which is on Sahara right in front of "naked city". I've walked from The Stratosphere to The Red Label late at night a few times right through "naked city" and driven it a thousand times. It's really nothing. Some homeless bums camped out in cardboard boxes in an empty lot (there are no "parks" there) for a couple of months a few years back. The city finally made them leave. If you had seen it, you wouldn't have been "scared". You would have felt sorry for them. I think things get a little bit exaggerated sometimes. |
