Hello GFY World!
My name is Ryan, yes that is my real name. I don't consider my first name private info and I hope nobody here at GYF does either, otherwise I guess I'll have to gfm. I'm a noob to everything white/black, 18-/18+ content, traffic, writing and basically anything that is covered on these threads. What I do know about is network coms(requests/responses), data, code and all sorts of neato things computer related. In 2008 I wanted to get started with AM, but opted out because building a basic site with Dreamweaver was too much for me. It was ONLY too much because I ask a shit load of questions and obsess over knowing everything about what I'm doing. So, instead of learning how to make money in AM, I started learning basic HTML. I jumped right into Javascript and after writing my first Hello World, I was hooked. Since then I have struggled my way through many languages, the ins and outs of OOP, various patterns, wrote some iOS, Droid apps, built a bunch of websites and basically taught myself that I am ready to go much further than I wanted to back in 2008. BUT, one thing I learned along the way that will forever change how I take on new tasks is that I must start with the easiest option available. So with my return to this world, with a focus on the GFY adult side, I am looking for my GFY Hello World. Then I will iterate over that success and scale in whatever direction(s) I can/see.
I've known of the various ways folks have built online empries(tinyOK), but I don't really know much about the processes or how to take what I know and build out something in this space. I consider myself a moral character and I want to be able to talk about and answer for my online business dealings. That said, my focus is on the areas where I can do legit work. I really like the idea of spending the next 3-6 months building out a platform that will be of used in this space.
I hope it is okay to mention of few things I already found on here that got my creative juices flowing.
The first I would like to mention is easyXsites. I signed up for an account just to see what it entails and I was impressed to see how they have it setup. The first interesting thing that comes to my attention is how they direct new accounts to signup with sponsors. I would imagine that there is some affiliate linking happening in the background by easyX so they can generate residuals from anyone who uses their platform. If I am correct, that is just flat out awesome.
The second I would like to mention is lifestyleamateurs. This platform appears to be failing atm due to an expired NAT license, but the idea itself is interesting. I actually have been thinking of something along those lines, but I don't want to be responsible for billing. I was thinking about trying to work a deal with CCBill and Epoch where I could utilize their apis and force members I seek out to each become merchants. I would be dealing only with startup studios that have money to spend and want to have a modern platform, but never be responsible for it. They set their own access prices and terms and manage accounting in-house.
I would love to hear anyones feedback to my comments about these two businesses I mentioned and anything you might feel like saying. I am new here, so please forgive me if I make a mistake or come off as ignorant. I will and I am! I look forward to reading more from those of you on here who have been at it for some time and even from others like myself, who are new and bound to trip up here and there!
