Google - From 7000 to 100 per day
Anyone notice a Google dance around June14/15? Over night 1 of my wordpress blogs went from 7000-8000/day Google to only 100/day :(
I have been checking many SEO tools, analytics, etc etc and the site does not appear deindexed totally (altho if you search sitename.com it does not list my site, if you search site:sitename.com it will list a lot, mostly wp attachment pages) :helpme :helpme :helpme Any ideas guys? This is nuts! I never have done blackhat bullshit and this particular site I have wrote 100% of it's contents myself! :Oh crap Some Facts: DomainAuth: 39 Pagerank: pr3 Wordpress blog with 2500 handwritten blog posts site born 2007 I am confused like hell on this one! |
sad to hear :(
|
I had something similar happen a couple of days earlier, some 15-20% traffic drop out of nowhere.
|
google does that, fuck honest sites over, while the webmaster has danced to Matt Cunts evil grinning empty tips for years.
All i can think of is the mobile friendly update. Is your site mobile friendly/responsive? |
You can do everything right and still get nailed. Don't listen to Matt Cutts.
Do what makes you the most money consistently (ex: buying traffic, social media, trades etc...) Relying on SEO alone in adult is very difficult these days. |
jscott, reasons may vary and without deep look into your site it's impossible to tell anything
|
|
I think there was a Google algo update recently.
|
Well it happens to some of my sites often to go down and up again after some time ! Google is playing with us ! I am sorry for you I know that is not very nice when your site dropes on rankings :(
|
I would wait a couple of days and look into the possibility of malware on your blog. WP plugins and skins are very vulnerable to exploits that could cause a sudden drop. Good luck with it.

Everyone always thinks their search results are theirs forever. Welcome to life dumbass. Search results will always change, Google will always be updating ranking algorithms and your SERPS will always be temporary.
Focus on what you can control and stop worrying about what you will never control. |
Do not relay on google.
|
Is your site mobile ready? I would look there first then heck webmaster tools for messages.
|
I noticed an insane drop as well. I closed out of my programs and said please let me come back in a few days and it will have been a glitch.
My traffic jumped up one day and then shot down the next. |

"I'm seeing shifting that smells like a panda." Thanks for that link. Informative. |
Have you checked your google webmaster account for manual actions? That much of a drop plus the fact your site isn't findable by domain.com sounds like a manual action was taken. Best of luck.

Mobile friendly would be my first guess as well. Google has been talking a lot about it recently and how it will change your mobile rankings. There's tons of people surfing on mobiles nowadays.
|
Google is evil. Sad to hear your drop.. Very unfair. And I believe most honest and good webmasters are suffering from the same.. Major turn off :(
|
At first I also thought it could be the mobile thing, but, it zero'd out everything, every ranking from every Google source, on every device.
Yet, i did some research, and apparently i'm not blacklisted or anything. i did have a manual error in analytics, "Bad Default URL", got this message on June13. I followed the steps to fix that, but everything about that issue seemed fine, so i submitted it back, hopefully that's the issue. But I found also a wp blog of mine, responsive theme, (using the newest wp default theme), was getting 4k/day Google is now getting under 100/day too (no analytics errors for this one) |
Yeah I noticed a substantial change with mine. On a certain affiliate I was making $35-75 a day, now I'm no where near that figure and traffic is lower. Fuck it.

any progress here? google is a very bad and very sad partner nowadays, you must invest tons of money or time to see results, i mean better results than pirate and spam and warez sites ... sad pirate we all rely on ... have luck with your business everyone! :thumbsup
|
WTF, in analytics I was getting a "Bad Default URL" message. I double checked and everything was fine.
Resubmitted (check again) and it says takes up to 24hrs, but I check now and it still saying it was checked and the problem still exists. Is Google broken or wtf default url -> http:// siteurl. com How can this be wrong? |
