How do you effectively block them from your servers?

Here's some ideas.

1. Identify the IP addresses used by them and block them using iptables.

2. Send DMCAs for every image of yours that they steal. Don't just DMCA the site, DMCA Bing & Google as well.

3. Locate the owner of the site and sue them.

Number 1 probably won't be effective as it's trivial to scrape a site using proxies which are basically available in endless quantities.

Thanks. We are DMCA'ing Google, Bing and others as well as making use of disavow tool when links number in the thousands. We do some other stuff with google proving pretty effective. This guy is from Germany and after we banged his other sites he's just seeing how long he can scam again with a new one.

One of the problems with his business model is that he can rinse and repeat at much lower cost than you have in pursuing him. He can keep popping up with new domains at <$10.

The only way to really shut him down is to sue him.

You can report his IP to Arin for abuse. The specific contact to report him to, for his IP range in Amsterdam is here.

He's on a dedicated server hosted by OVH in France. You can block out his IP range 188.165.35.183

I'm sure you already know this just putting it out there.

Thanks Bladewire. We discovered the benefits of Arin reporting for abuse just recently. Your info is very helpful.
if you haven't created a projecthoneypot account it is worth for same and similar reasons.

I think the point is not to go after individual sites but the companies who serve them.

Point taken. I may try and strangle him for awhile first. Suing him is probably like suing NukePiracy... no return. A never ending sledgehammer to his business is probably better.
Make McDonalds fries cook job look appealing.

A buddy of his is in our members site. Now that he will be ass-fucked for.

Does he scrape in bulk? Meaning he is taking large quantities of content? A company like Proxigence can help with that.

Good luck!
